"Faerie of the Willow"

Post by Edythe »

Hello forum ♥ .. I've been feeling ..whimsical and mystical lately.. (Whimstical? :? :roll: ) and this poem is the result of my happy thoughts. I hope it makes you smile!
"Faerie of the Willow"

She peeks around the hedgerow, not wanting to be seen;
Furtively, she watches him; he's dressed in brown and green.
Pixie face and pointed cap, he is her one true love,
Sent in a dream by Queen Mab from the heavens up above.

She rushes out to meet him, a smile upon her face;
Faerie wings and spider webs and stockings made of lace.
They run together hand in hand to the standing stones,
Where ancient magic still exists and the old ones still call home.

Faerie of the Willow and Elfling of the Glen
Find the secret doorway and leave the world of men.
In the realm of twilight, they dance the faerie ring,
Fiddle and drum lead their steps and their voices sing.

Walking down a well-worn path, lit by fireflies
The lovers wander hand in hand under starry skies.
The time has come for them to leave this enchanted glen;
Passing through the secret door back to the world of men.

He finds his fellow guilty of a skin
Not coloured like his own, and having power
To enforce the wrong, for such a worthy cause
Dooms and devotes him as his lawful prey.

Thank you Naga, I'm so pleased that you liked this poem. :D I love the way my "synchronicity-ness" is happening today. Nature poetry and giant trees and your childhood experience about the fawn bones.. even Christine's post about Diatomateous Earth (which I started taking last week!) it all feels related to me.. (laughing!) It's been a good day and your nice post made it even better~

Hi Naga..hugs.. thank you for your very kind words. I am well and always in research mode. That's why I disappear for chunks of time. I tend to get a little obsessed :shock: :? :lol:
