She was catching mice and returning to the fence, lol.

Sad news photo fans, my new camera really hates moisture and low light photography. I might have to switch back to the older one. It had serious issues. The phone isn't responsive or fast enough really to fill in.

Sigh. The old bitties at the lake use Real lenses and real cameras and they don't have to fight so damn hard to get close to the birds.

Luckily owls are unafraid and will approach, but the hawks are more scared usually although a few are extremely friendly.

Soon iirc the lake will fill and be restocked with trout, and the ospreys will hopefully come here during mid day. Winter is hard on cameras.

Not saying I'm giving up, but Jeez the 8 dollars i spent on the photos today might have been better spent on a new setup. Eek.

Maybe a tripod and actually learning how to control the zoom on this phone. Poor phone lol gets blamed for so much fail

That owl might actually be quite rare, if it is a Northern Spotted Owl!!!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_spotted_owl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

There are less than 100 pairs of Northern Spotted Owl left in British Columbia, Canada, 1,200 pairs in Oregon, 560 pairs in Northern California, and 500 pairs in Washington.[4] Washington alone has lost over 90 percent of its old growth forest due to logging which has caused a 40-90 percent decline of the Northern Spotted Owl population.[5]

Spotted owls form long-term pair bonds (divorce is an uncommon occurrence) and remain in the same geographical areas year after year.

Most spotted owls occur on US federal lands (Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and National Park Service lands), although significant numbers occur on state lands in all three states, and on private and tribal properties.

Tonight was different. We saw gangsters pulling weapons this evening. Managed to scare them off but it was certainly strange. The police said unfortunately 2 chaps of similar description pulled a gun on someone literally right after I called in the guy threatening me with a butcher knife and the stick in the photo.

Lol

A tiny slug, perhaps 1" long, was suspended in midair by a strand of spiderweb. He was rescued following this picture. Not sure that I'd seen that particular scenario before. This was at the base of the big huge hillside facing the Mill Creek Project on the Rooks Park side.

The shaded, high moisture yet nutrient rich environment of the mud cliffs allow for a unique spread of interesting species not found in other areas of the so called high desert.

Image

The view from the top of the hill after a most daring & good cardio climb. Pants crapping terror actually but good exercise, haha.

Image

Unfortunately the mud dries almost instantly up top, and anyone prone to asthma will need a few minutes to recover.

The view on the other side of The Wall:

Beautiful sunset over Mill Creek earlier in the week:

Pictured above is a mixture of homeless men, various drug addicts, and gang affiliated criminals, one of whom shouted the word "cunt" at my back today, in transit to a bus stop.

They are sitting around a fountain or monument in Crawford Park, City of Walla Walla. This was today.

Image

It's sad because fundamentally I've stood up for our homeless a long time.

Image

They don't have the balls to fight the gang pieces of shit so they all just sit around doing drugs publicly and menacing women & tourists. My spouse thought one of these photos showed a mask of some type, in which case I suppose a person might even call them terrorists.

In any case, the city council is not enabling our police to separate the gang drifter trash from our actual Walla Walla homeless folk. Another major failing of the people represented by the shortcomings of city manager Nabiel Shawa.

After dealing with the fuggin idiots at Crawford Park who are too lazy to leave town, the ospreys and hawks put on a real show for the sad few who exercise:

Ya know what??

Look closely at the picture of the gangster pulling up his shirt.

Image

Do you see the dark cylinder in the waistband?

Wow. I have shitty night vision...

Edit: above, toward his right hip and our left side, you can see the light glinting on a revolver or similar thing.

Following pic is from google:

Re: the hoodlums in masks (Walla Walla eek):

Seattle Times
The Seattle City Council approved a historic measure to create more civilian oversight of police. One national expert called it "an exciting experiment" not being done anywhere else.

Separately, a new law sets out the right of the public to observe, record and criticize police activity without fear of retaliation.

Meanwhile, on the state level, there's a proposal to outlaw wearing masks or hoods during protests.
