Good day ...

Hermit, may you not mind me bringing forth my interpretation of the cards. It seems innate in me to do so.

This reading for me is a collective one and a representational one of the Earth Empaths forum. How truly interesting. There are many personal elements in the reading for me too. Currently I am in inverse space, recognizing cycles with in cycles and seeing further a field and yet not ready to make that leap. There is also a representation of the queen and a certain male energy that holds keys to this next step... so clearly represented in this spread.

Female, male and sun ... how very telling.

Queen of Wands, the fire element ... warmth, hospitality, benevolence. "If the sun "shines" in your heart, you can overcome your fears and walk your own path." We see the throne with the two lions and the shield of the red lions, she holds a sunflower. She offers balance and protection. There is a black cat at her feet, could this be any more obvious? The dark force sits with her.

So here we find Her reversed. My direct interpretation is that her counsel is not heard, perhaps it is not yet the right time, somehow timing comes into all of this. With all the cards reversed I deeply intuit that the descent is not complete, the investigation hasn't revealed what is hidden. Time will tell.

Three of Wands, a male holding three wands looking looking over a cliff seeing ahead. The divine trinity, he holds the keys to some far sighted plan or journey. He accompanies the queen in the reversal of order, not yet ready. The sight not yet clear, indecision, he waits.

The Sun, the son is seen riding a white steed, a scarf of red embracing him. The sunflowers in the background are in full bloom. Vitality, energy, fulfillment, truth all come to mind. Reversed, not yet ready, some blocking action and opposition to be overcome.

As far as the Archangel Michael, well I live in a town named after him so his presence is always close by. He has stood me in good stead in times past though I am also feeling an evolutionary aspect in the angelic realms, they are not perfected beings after all.

This is community! I think interpretations from different people, collaboratively, makes this thread (and this forum) stronger.

I love it, and I hope people continue to do it! :D

I have worked more with the Medicine Wheel cards put out by Jamie Sams and David Carson a lot more than my deck of tarot cards for probably the last year, but you've inspired me to pull them out and take a look see. I work with the Tarot of the Old Path deck that I've had for 22 years this month. For me, the Queen of Rods (or wands) has always represented a love of nature and fondness for country living, as well as the expression of feminine energy through the element of fire' which indicates action. The Three of Rods (wands) has always indicated, for me, help from a benevolent unseen source, and a knowing that it will be there. The Sun for me, among other things, has always been about the vital energy of life itself, and the ability to receive from that source of limitless light. It also represents the cyclical nature of life that has both large and small cycles, and the interplay between them.

For all three of these to be upside down in the order that they are makes me feel the message in this for me is that if one lives a life with no regard for nature, that the connection will not be there to receive the benevolent guidance of one's inner knowing that is always there, but has to be tenderly cared for, much like a gardener lovingly works with the forces of nature to create a place whose life force is strong and palpable. This is a path that would take one away from keeping ones life force strong and healthy, and eventually would make one feel a draining of the life force energy. One would be out of balance with ones own inner cycles which are connected to nature itself. There are many kinds of gardens, but all have to be lovingly and tenderly cared for to experience optimum growth.

This weeks reading features wands and a familiar face between them.

Three-card spread.

1. Five of wands.
2. The Hermit.
3. Eight of wands reversed.

My intuitive reading:

An internal struggle, one of which may manifest itself as a combative attitude between friends or colleagues. An endeavour begun, or spoken about, that collapses before it begins. Many hands struggling to bring together the works of many individuals, turning upside-down the powers (or attempting to). Watching is the wisdom-keeper, the true knowledge, the innate. Trust your instincts rather than what others may tell you. You may be surrounded by individuals/people who support you but the true keeper, the true instigator, is attempting to remain hidden.

Trust your instincts, trust your inner wisdom, lest your virility (read here not sexual, but the potent awareness of knowledge gained) be cut off or short.

A second look:

Mental masturbation anyone? Ideas are flying around like all get out, and people are trying to make sense of it all! Relax, take a moment, reflect and introspect. The eight of wands in this position can point to delays, or to obstacles...but I'm reading it more as a sign of individuals with varying ideas that are all moving in the same direction. The question is, where are they rooted?

The way they're spread indicates to me that cooler heads will prevail.

Looking forward to seeing the other interpretations!!

Time to move out!

Three card spread:

1. The Hermit reversed.
2. Page of swords
3. Knight of pentacles.

It's time to get out of yourself, time to look at things in a different way and open one's mind, broaden one's horizons. There's a conflict or a struggle that's getting in the way of doing this, but rather than stand and fight what seems to be a major road block, simply spread your wings and soar above it. There is a great river of wisdom that flows under everything an it's simply a matter of presenting one's self humbly before it. Put on your armour and move forward with what you know to be true, and trust it. You're going to leave behind the anchors that have been keeping you back this past week.

You're introspecting too much and it's getting in the way of moving forward. Although you have an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, it might be wise to consider it's aimed in the wrong direction, or worse: you could be enthusing about undertaking endeavours that will in the long run set you back. Don't feel weary. Keep at it, keep looking forward using the enthusiasm and energy to try something new. This reading suggests a fertility that requires action to germinate and grow, a questioning mind with regards to the direction and purpose of that growth, but an overall triumph with regards to things to come in the following week.

Hello Hermit,

Thank you for continuing to pull the cards. I have been looking for a moment of deep enough contemplation to feel into the above reading. I am giggling at my own words, it seems I am more submerged these days than living on the surface world, such a richness to life and so much to see.

Ok, these are decidedly masculine cards and mostly indicative of a younger male. Impressions run this way ... it is time for the male force to come out of the hermitage, being a hermit is two sided (aren't all things) one side is the depth of experience gathered in solitude, the knowing of one self, the reverse is the retreat from needed action. It seems our young male part has drawn a sword, made a decision ... taken an action which leads him to "mounting the dark horse" ie: overcome some obstacle and is now in charge ... Knight of pentacles has found something of value from his inward search and this indicates abundance in the world.

Drawing a sword is an indication of obtaining a certain power. Sword = Words with a beautiful innocence seen in the page (scribe).

Pretty spot on I would say. Whether we are male or female there are aspects of all of us that I see in this reading. A vital male force arising within.

Love it.

This may give some insight as to why I've not read in a while. At least, before drawing the cards, that's what I suspect.

Three card spread.

OH boy.

1. Judgement reversed.
2. Five of swords.
3. Page of pentacles.

Intuitive reading:

There's some serious nasty shit going on. The old order, the old way of thinking, is calling up and drawing down some nasty feelings and emotions, some challenges that are not necessarily productive but are none the less the result of the calling. The calling is spiritual, it is external, but is drawn by internal forces and takes shape on old ideas. Those ideas are not necessarily incorrect! But used incorrectly, or out of context, bring a kind of discord. The problem is in thinking that one can control that suffering, or take ownership of it, ends up hurting or causing even more pain to those who are around you, or trying to help you, or trying to find a way to help you out of that situation. The reality is that letting go of some of those feelings, questioning the emotions behind them, why you cling to them, will inevitably find you in a place of comfortable evolution. Just be careful! There are still risks around, still dangerous ways you can travel. The page of pentacles in many ways is like the fool, is on the edge of becoming the fool. There is discernment and great choice that needs to be made and it must be done whole heartedly and with serious thought and consideration. The cliff is still near, but there are also other greater destinations to visit. The grove, the sacred grove, and behind that the Holy Mountain. The page holds the pentacle in his hand and at the same time holds the sun, the source of all light, of revelation, of liberation. Judgement does not come from bellow, but rather above and within.

It's fascinating Hermit… this latest spread is so in keeping with the portent of the current full moon regards cautioning regards risky times, whilst dealing with old karma and patterns.

How generous you are - I for one would much very appreciate a private reading from you…

Three Card Spread

(I recently did a private reading, and my immediate instinct was to say that although this reading is a general reading for the entire board, it has special relevance as an addendum to that private reading.)

1. The Hierophant reversed
2. The Chariot
3. Strength reversed

Intuitive Interpretation:

Ok, where do I start with this one!

Why do we instinctively turn ourselves around, or try to turn the beliefs we have into some kind of acceptable mesh with what we want?

What I find coming through very consistently is the movement of energy and emotion like falling water, like no matter how hard we try to resist the truth, try to modulate belief to fit our own values, we in the process forget that within ourselves is an intrinsic, intuitive, and unshakable knowing of wisdom and our place and purpose in the world.

There's a very sad man, and a very sad woman who are involved together right now. They are trying desperately to justify their involvement but do not realize that behind that involvement is a third party, perhaps not of this physical reality, that is pushing and binding for his/her own aims and goals. I don't know if these two people are both on the board or are involved as a couple and only one of the couple is on the board, but there is a strong tie of these cards to individuals or people who actively post here.

Right now, things seem to be moving in a very positive way. However, once the woman asserts herself in this relationship, there will again be an outpouring of energy that no body involved will be able to control. This is such a water reading!!! There's a total down pouring of energy and emotion like rushing water. I'm literally seeing it flow out of the #1 and #3 cards and fall off my desk like a water fall. And all the time, the two sphinx who are in front of the chariot are sitting holding something physical, something tangible, something that ties them to each other and to this third purpose. And the third purpose, this individual, is very confidently looking on being fed by this discord which is growing.

Be true to yourself. Do not let go of the individuality or freedom that you have, but cherish it. This reading is a warning about becoming involved too quickly, taking on tasks or challenges too fast. Once you are out of the gate, once you are involved, once the sexual component has entered into this equation, it's over. You'll end up going for a ride which will end in tears.

Do not trust this confidence. Do not forget that while you seem to be attached to each other, that attachment serves a third party which you may or may not be aware of. And what you hold in your hands, what seems physically tangible? That is a distraction. If and when you wake up to all of this, and if you wake up to it together, you will be able to control the waters which are flowing on either side of you, and that will have REAL power to expose this third party, or remove it, or cleanse it. But just be careful!!! This energy which is flowing around you is so strong that it can make you believe you're in control of it...and in the end, all three will be washed away.

This feels like an immensely powerful reading, and an immensely powerful cautionary tale for someone. My intuition tells me it's a woman, but as I recently told someone: sometimes I'm just supposed to turn the cards. My meanings may not be the meaning you need, or see.
