Sometimes I find a song that touches my very soul. Something about the voice, something about the energy of the person singing/playing. I have always been musical, my Dad fostered that gift. Not that I am highly talented particularly, but expression through music and communication through music and communion with Spirit in music...it was all shown to me. Given to me. Anyway, anyone who has read what I've shared over time (and space) knows this. It's no new news. I thought I could carve out a space where I can share what touches me.

This is the perfect example. With my little ole earbuds in, I transport so far away that I can forget I'm physical.

There was a time when I felt very scared. I do not remember how I stumbled onto this one, but the energy that moves through it started to shake my fear. Eventually, the energy climbed up inside me and grew. I allowed it to move, and before I knew it I felt stronger. I listened to this until I could sing along, until I knew the words, and until I had the confidence these women have. Mine joined with theirs. Before I knew it, I felt it. And I was bellowing it out. I went from thinking it sounded cheesy to it being a great energy boost, almost like a lifeline.

Here's one that I would have run from, once upon a time. I would have thought it "witchy" and gone the other direction.

However...

It is almost mesmerizing, haunting. Gets inside me and calls from another time. It calls from a great many other times, actually. Gets inside me and shakes loose something. It belongs here since it does touch my soul, but I kind of wonder if it would affect anyone else this way.
