One of the surface dwellers came close and looked into his eyes. He could tell this one could be a female of the species. He felt a tickling in his mind and something strange then he was looking at the gate in the Lab cavern that the surface dwellers had built so long ago. He could see SSSss’Ma-Ki standing next to the gate in a frozen position as if he was springing in an attack. He could not move in this new place the same as before and then one of his nesters materialized slightly in front of him. Ssssss’Na-Ki and SSSS-ss’Li-Ki both materialize on the ground. These were the two that had been killed by the old style surface dweller weapons. He was assuming that the rest of his nesters had been sent here by those two surface dwellers that had the powerful weapon. His next sight and to his complete chagrin, was SSsss’Ya-Ki materializing next to SSSss’Ma-Ki. His mind screamed. He could not feel his body but if he could be free he would have killed Ya-Ki immediately.
K’Sssha-Ki kept walking around his quarters. The Klicks had grown long now and he had peered into the gate at the devastation on the home world. A guard had tried to access the gate from the home world once and he shut it down but not before part of the guard made it through. It was gruesome to see an arm and part of the body materialize and fall to the cave floor as the gate closed. He did not want to touch it which left him in an awkward position. If Sssss’Ra-Ki came in and saw the gate in his private quarters the Nester could kill him for his treachery. He would have to explain the entire situation to his captain and hope for the best. He knew there were two guards outside and with the Klicks growing he began to think that maybe the insurrectionists won the skirmish and his entire Rhumba could have been killed or captured. The sealed door would have to be blasted open and the aliens would never be able to do such a thing. His thoughts became more tangled as the Klicks passed. He was seriously thinking about going through the gate and destroying it from the home world. His mind was running wild with thoughts of delusions when the small surface dweller walked through the door without opening it and stood looking at him.
Ian had taken the lead in the tunnel and cautiously walked on a well worn path. The lighting was very dim and the lamps or so they thought of them, were spread at least 50 feet apart. Michael and Susanna spread apart and moved along the edge of the tunnel. They had to weave themselves around small and large boulders but still the same, were able to stay close to Ian. Around 150 feet into the tunnel Ian stopped in front of a steel door structure in the rock wall of the tunnel. There were other openings in the walls but none seemed to be barricaded with a steel door. Ian suspected this was the quarters of the Supreme Leader. He could feel the minds of the two guards and knew that they were both watching him. He had turned on the vest shield just as Michael and Susanna had done. He spoke to Michael and Susanna both and told them to wait for the two guards to try and attack him before they were to come and send them to the Lab cavern.
Ssssss’Pa-Ki and SSSss’Bal-Ki had hidden themselves on top of some larger boulders across from the Supreme Leaders quarters. They both were bored and wanted to go and help fight the insurrectionists. SSSss’Bal-Ki was thinking of how the S’iruss tasted when his attention was captured by the surface dweller as it walked up to the Supreme Leaders door. He watched it stop and stand very still. He slid off the backside of the boulder quietly and saw that Ssssss’Pa-Ki had done the same from his position. They split up and approached the surface dweller from two different directions. SSSss’Bal-Ki fully intended to bite down on this little aliens head and then have him for a snack. The little surface dweller was taller than the S’iruss or the Grouth but he was not as thick or so it seemed. They both closed to within striking distance and jumped. Just as they came down, the alien seemed to walk through the door. They both landed against the door and it knocked them sideways. Ssssss’Pa-Ki rolled over and came to his knees. SSSss’Bal-Ki did the same but was not as fast as the younger lizard. They both shook their heads and started to stand up when out of the dark two more surface dwellers seemed to materialize right next to them. Ssssss’Pa-Ki being the younger lizard struck out to try and knock the surface dweller down and froze half way through his action. He saw the alien standing in front of him and tried to let out a hissing screech at it. No sound emitted from him but his mind received the reverberation and it made him close his eyes which he could still do.
SSSss’Bal-Ki watched in amazement as his mate was frozen by the surface dweller. He started to get up and was frozen himself. He wanted to turn and see who was causing this to happen to him but he could not move his head. The alien moved into his view and knelt down, He heard in his own language from this alien, “are you ready to go back to your home world?” He became completely confused, here was a surface dweller talking to him in his own language and he understood. He had desperately wanted to go back to the home world for many Klotches and he was being offered that from this alien species that inhabited this world. The alien reached out and touched his weapon and it disappeared. He watched as the other alien did the same to Ssssss’Pa-Ki. His next sight was looking at the broken gate in the Lab cavern.
Ian walked through the steel blast door and stood looking at the Supreme Leader Kireal. The alien stood very still and then spoke. Ian was surprised that the creature spoke in the earth language although it was a bit broken. “Who are you and why have you come into our realm? I am the Supreme leader of all the species that live in this base. Your species gave this place to us many Klotches in the past and then sealed us in so we could not interfere with you surface dwellers.” Ian let the alien talk and then the alien went quiet waiting for an answer. Ian finally spoke when he could see the alien starting to become anxious. “I am of the Divine Creator and the human race that inhabits this world. You have been here for a long time and it is time for you to leave and go back to your own world. You have been an overload to the other species that have been trapped here and they also are going to go back to their own worlds. You will no longer be a Supreme Leader of these other species or your own.”
K’Sssha-Ki could see clearly that this little human, as he called himself, was going to send him somewhere. He didn’t think the little human knew of the operating gate here and he did not know of the two elements that were hidden that would make the other gate work. He slithered a bit closer as he continued to speak with this human hoping to perhaps get close enough to overcome it before it could react. “How do you propose to send us back to our own world when the gates are not operable and cannot be repaired?” Ian could see what the alien was doing and understood how this one could control the others. He felt the faint mind control that this one was trying to do to him and answered his question. “You have the two components for the gate in the Lab cavern, I know because one of your own has told me. You mention more than one gate, so could it be that there is another gate and it is operable?” K’Sssha-Ki was disturbed. He had spoke incorrectly to this human and let it be known that there was more than one gate and when the human asked for the two keys for the gate in the lab cavern and then said one of his own had told him about them. He could feel the betrayal. His anger was rising to a boil by now. “Tell me who it was that told you about the elements for that gate, I must know because he could be lying to you.” Ian could see the snake slowly moving closer and knew when the creature would spring at him but he needed to find the elements first.
“You have one called SSSss’Ma-Ki and he is the scientist/engineer that can fix the gate, he has told me that you took the two elements that control that gate in the Lab cavern. Where is the other gate then?” K’Sssha-Ki stopped his slow slither toward the human. ‘Ma-Ki the traitor came to mind instantly. He had his suspicions about him as well as the others and now he knew for certain. This little rodent of a human caught his miss speak about the gates and now he was being put on the spot to back peddle from that mishap. He was standing about 4 meters from the human and was thinking about rushing him and quickly biting him to kill. The two elements were safely hidden in a small hole in the wall of his sleeping quarters and he did not want this human to find them or go into the separate room where the operating gate was concealed. He prepared himself to spring and said “you are a clever human; there is no other gate as you might think and as for the elements that control the gate in the Lab cavern, I destroyed them many years ago so the remaining nesters will never go back to our home world.” His tension became very noticeable to Ian just before he sprang.
Ian knew that this snake was lying to him. He could read the aliens mind and could see the little hole in the next room of the cave. The elements had been wrapped and stored in this hole and then he could also see the concealed gate in another room. He could see that this alien had come to the end of conversation and was going to jump at him. He prepared his own self to move and just a moment later the alien jumped at him. He disappeared and reappeared at the entrance to the room that held the two elements. K’Sssha-Ki made his move, he was fast and his stature gave him the advantage of reaching the human by just springing at him from his present position. He landed in the spot where the human was standing and was shaken that the human was not in his grasp. He quickly turned around and saw the little human standing at the opening into his resting room. He sprang again, hoping to grab the human before it could escape again. He was very confused as his body stopped and he was standing at the verge of entering the gate in its concealed location. The half body and arm of the guard that had tried to come through earlier was under his feet. He could not move and the very edge of the gate surface was within a few inches of his face.
Ian froze the alien and transported him to the surface of the gate in the room where it was concealed. He hurried into the room where the elements were hidden and retrieved them and walked into the room where the gate was located. The alien was frozen almost against the gate surface and Ian could see the parts of another alien lying on the floor under the frozen ones feet. He walked over and stood just to the side of the gate where the alien could hear him but could not see him. Ian had read the mind of the alien to know how to activate the gate. He fully intended to send this one through and then destroy the gate. He spoke first to let this alien know his intention. “Your time on this planet has come to an end. You are being evicted; you will no longer be the overlord of your own nesters or the other species that are also being sent back to their home worlds. Your system and your world are being cleansed as are many other worlds in many galaxies of the universe. You will be followed by the remaining nesters that are now being gathered in the Lab cavern.” Ian activated the gate and quickly pushed the alien onto the surface that materialized on the other side of the gate. He released the alien from the in-between and turned the gate off. The next thing he did was to make the gate disappear and reappear into a strange place that quickly made it dissolve into nothing. He then found the cage where the S’iruss and Grouth were being kept for food and sent then back to their peoples below.
