Drums beating in unison
All across the land
I see my brothers and sisters
Walking hand in hand
Through the veil of darkness
Our light doth shine the way
To the new world of wonder
Where death doth hold no sway
Where children play in peace
And the warlords fade away
Like some forgotten nightmare
Of a time that is no more
As the Queen of hearts
Doth reach that distant shore
We resurrect compassion
And empathy and love
As our only compass
Like manna from above
Let us walk together
And face the rising sun
As we all begin to sing
And a new day is begun
We raise the rainbow flag
As one race of people
Where earth is our church
And it doesn’t need a steeple
A New Day

A New Day
I see your love shining out from my furry friends faces, when I look into their eyes. I see you in the flower’s smile, the rainbow, and the wind in the trees....

Re: A New Day
Okay, so this one is much like the last one. I sucked at poetry when I was a kid in grade school. I’m not much better now, but it’s kind of fun anyway. Perhaps with practice I will improve. I like the visuals that often accompany my words as I write. That’s probably why I do it. Just the act of writing itself can be a mood changer, in a good way. So what the hay, I will share anyway.
Children of the Sun
Riding fast as I can
With the wind in my hair
Don’t look behind me
Don’t you dare
For there you will find
The bad bogey men
Whose horrors and hardship
Will surely descend
Gone days of old
Where peace ruled supreme
Children playing in the sun
Not a fear to be seen
Even the animals
Had no need to run
For in those times
We were forever young
Beauty abounded
Love and gratitude too
Until things went dark
And the bogey men said BOO!
Like a forgotten dream
That fades when awakened
It truly feels
Like we’ve been forsaken
Where is God now
In these times of chains
And struggle and strife
Seem all that remain
In our hearts we will find
What we truly seek
We just have to look
And take a peak
In the heart of the earth
Lays a sun shining bright
With loving eyes
It’s really quite a sight
We must throw off these shackles
Watch the darkness fade
See the bogey men run
We are no slaves
As our inner sun wakes
From her slumber at last
It will all be forgotten
This horrible past
As night turns to day
We look towards the east
No bogey men in sight
No more scary beasts
Nothing to run from
Nothing to fear
What lives in our hearts
Makes a sound we can hear
As the frequency grows
Forms assemble together
Seeming solid as stone
Yet light as a feather
With wings we will fly
Circling ever higher
Where death holds no sway
The dream no longer dire
We are the children of the sun
Children of the Sun
Riding fast as I can
With the wind in my hair
Don’t look behind me
Don’t you dare
For there you will find
