The elevator door on the second basement floor opened just as Alice and Justin disappeared through the very blank door with a sign above it stating that it was a utility closet. Herman Trovsky was the first to step out while Hedda and her 5 additional secret service agents followed. “We have to traverse the corridor to reach the elevator that goes to the parking garage.” Herman told them as he began to walk the corridor. “I would suggest some of you take the stairs because if there are enemy soldiers down there they will be guarding the elevator.” What about the stairwell, Mr. Trovsky?” “Well now Agent Blackwell, we have the capability to shut down the alarm systems for both the elevator and the stairs so whoever is down there will not know we are coming until those doors open. I can even shut down the floor gage on the elevator so surprise is on our side. I would suggest you all are ready to empty your weapons when those doors open and as for the stairs. You crawl down there and wait for the elevator to open and the shooting to start which should draw any attention away from the stairs.” The group of 7 minions reached the elevator and stairwell that would take them to the parking garage. Herman opened the panel on the wall that would allow him to operate the doors and alarms and used the keys and artificial eye to set everything in motion. He knew about the secret stair to the secret room but was not going to tell any of the agents. The two agents that knew about the room and stairs were dead now. That particular room held all the triggers for the gas and other nasty things he could use to take out the intruders if they existed. He was going to get all the agents on their way and go take the secret stairs.

Justin reached the parking structure and told the teams that someone was coming down from the main palace. Jacks first response was to station his men at the elevators and stairs. Tamara and Janice both knew this would not turn out very well. Tamara asked where Alice was and Justin told her that she went up to the next floor to check it out. She talked with Janice and then told Jack and Keegan to gather the men and take what they could carry and go up the secret stairs. They needed to get up to the 1st basement floor at least and get into a good defense position. The teams went into action swiftly and began to move up the stairs. Justin led the way and they climbed the stairs. Both teams had passed the lower basement landing well before Herman unlocked the secret door and entered the stairwell. He was going to set up the chemical gas to flood the parking garage. Xisherma Sqie’/Herman Trovsky had told Xerkshaz Shee’ to take the stairs and hang back. The other pod compatriots were expendable. Xishum Stra’ had told him that he and Shee’’ needed to eliminate the entire enemy and the agents and seal the garage and both basement floors. The elimination of the Gyyuuummphers was to begin on this Xzame. There would be an elimination of pod compatriot that could not be helped but the outcome would allow the Xzanturs to be free from the worms for the first time in millennia. They could then conquer the human race and from this planet could expand into this galaxy and begin to conquer and create their new empire.

Herman/Sqie’ entered the secret room and knew something was wrong. He moved to the one way windows and noticed the vehicles but no life forms. As he scanned the room he began to turn on the gas system but something was screaming in his mind about the absence of humans and the Emperors minions. He turned on the cameras and began to scope the entire garage. There were no life signs and the doors that sealed off the tunnels from the external areas were wide open. His mind was spinning with questions when the elevator doors opened and the agents began spraying bullets into the empty space. He watched in amazement as the bullets ricocheted off the empty vehicles and then the stairwell door opened and more firing commenced. It was all surreal as he reached down to release the gas. He failed to see the open door to the secret room into the parking garage and one of the ricocheting bullets caught his human body in the chest which caused him to fall against the button to release the gas. He tried to abandon the human but it was too late and the Gyyuuummphers in his brain also tried to abandon his brain. Both vehicles exploded in a fiery blast that mixed with the gas and caused a nastier conflagration. The human body Sqie’ was in was set on fire and the gas engulfed him. The Gyyuuummphers screeched through his mouth and the human as they all became non existent. The agents in the elevator were engulfed and died a horrible death as the agents in the stairwell were burned and gassed to death. Xerkshaz Shee’ had stayed almost a flight of steps up but caught the gas as it flamed upward through the opening. She turned and struggled to climb the stairs to get away but the gas caused the skin of the human to melt away. She tried to escape the human carcass and fell away at the last moment. She lay on the stairs, crumpled and the worm crawled from her ear but was consumed with the fiery gas as it flamed its way upward in the stairwell

The first basement directly under the ground floor of the palace was very eerie when Alice stepped through the non-descript door. There was no one in sight in the corridor but she could hear voices coming from the far end of the corridor or so she assumed. She knew the teams would be coming up the secret stairs very soon so she needed to make sure this floor was clear or as clear as could be. She could handle a few and send them to a distant place for now. It was the alien symbiotics that gave her the willies because they had figured out how to detect the awakened humans. She was not sure what they could do but the thought of one of them invading her brain and gaining control did not bode well in any sense of the word. When she was very little she had been covered by worms that had bit her. This traumatic experience had been buried deep within her being and she still had not been able to have a healing experience from that trauma. The invasion of the symbiotics had caused her to be on edge and this was cause for concern to her because she could become vulnerable to being invaded. As she thought about this she levitated and floated the corridor toward the voices.

Justin made his way up the stairs ahead of the teams. He told Tamara and Janice that Alice would need help and left quickly. He also told them that they needed to hurry up the stairs because there was an alien that would be coming down from the floor above soon. When Justin entered the corridor, he remained invisible and could hear the voices coming from somewhere in the corridor. He knew that Alice was already close to those voices and he hurried to meet up with her. He was worried for her because he knew about her early mental and physical experience with worms. He had witnessed her agitation with the symbiotics that lived inside the Xzanturs and she had telepathically talked with him about worms and how they gave her the creeps. She had told him how she could be galvanized if confronted directly by the symbiotics. So far she had been able to send the host body that held the symbiotic to a place that destroyed both the host and the symbiotic. As he flew down the corridor he knew that if one of these worms succeeded in invading Alice and controlling her being it would not be good for the human race. These alien beings were able to learn very quickly and could create a major defense against the Haven folk and others that were transcending into the new open minded humans.

The elevator door stood open at the end of the corridor and to the left side was an opening into a large room. Justin stopped and looked at the small group of humans that surrounded Alice. They all seemed to be talking to each other and at Alice. He could see that she was frozen and visible. The humans, that Justin knew were inhabited by the aliens seemed to be very leery as they pressed closer to Alice. He knew that they knew that she could make them all go away with just a touch. They did not seem to know that she could send them away by just thinking. However there seemed to be something wrong with her and the circle of humans. He wanted to move into the room and make these aliens go away. He started to move when one of the humans turned and looked straight at him and started to screech with his finger pointed directly at him. Justin watched as all the humans turned toward him and the fish aliens began to step out of the human bodies. The loud bang and the jolt to his body took him by surprise. As he fell backwards, he watched in a surrealistic scene as the humans began to shoot the fish aliens.

A short time earlier, Alice had reached the same opening into the room and watched the 6 humans as they stood around talking about the elimination of the symbiotic race of worms. Alice could see the Xzanturs clearly inside the human bodies and wondered at the clear insurrection talk screeching from these beings. She knew that the worms lived in the Xzanturs brains but apparently the aquatics could somehow separate themselves from the worms. This confirmed her suspicions that the aquatics were not as controlled as the humans would be when a worm entered them directly. She was still invisible but sensed an exposure feeling while standing in the corridor and watching these three part beings discuss the destruction of one of them. One of the humans did not seem to be participating with the others and turned directly toward her. She felt a tingling in her mind and became frozen with fear. Her mind was filled with worms crawling on her and entering her mouth and ears. She became visible and slowly walked into the room. The one human that appeared to be forcing the mental nightmare on her began to move closer as the others stopped screeching and formed a circle around her. None of them dared to approach within touching distance to her, yet she could not use her mind to make the one stop its continuous invasion of pure physical, as she thought, onslaught of worms covering her body. She watched in abject fear as these beings began to close the circle around her. She finally felt the presence of love from Justin and tried to call out to him in the mind when the world around her turned into a fire storm. She felt a great pain from Justin and then everything became quiet.

Ian had stepped into time just as the bullet entered Justin’s chest and caught the boy as he fell backward. Justin looked at the bright light as he left his corporeal body to enter back into the no-time. Ian laid the empty body down and saw the aquatics die in a firestorm of bullets. He stood up and walked toward the humans that were doing the shooting and began to make them disappear to places where the corporeal bodies would disintegrate and the worm aliens that controlled them became non-existent. The one human that was completely controlled by the worm lost its mind control over Alice and turned its mind toward the taller child that had just entered the room and made all his herd cells disappear. The blank wall his mind came up against made him shrink back with fear. The last thing he ever knew was the face of a pure light being as he fell completely apart into single incoherent cells. The human body that he had inhabited and had fed on the pineal gland crumpled to the floor and lay inert. Ian could see that the spirit and soul of the corporeal body were non-existent and turned to Alice, she had moved to the body of Justin. She knew that the spirit and soul were no longer in the corporeal body but she mourned for him anyway. Ian could feel the loss and sorrow emanating from her. She was on the verge of blaming herself for Justin’s demise so Ian came to her and took her into the no-time and dream healing place. She stood next to a bed and looked at Justin. He opened his eyes and smiled. I see that you are alright, I am very glad. I was quite worried that you would be inhabited by one of those worm things. Alice smiled and started to sit down when Justin hopped from the bed and took her hand. Come, you must see something and there is a healing that you need to undertake. Alice began to laugh as her and Justin began to skip through the hallways and out into a meadow. Justin told her that he was going to go back and would be the same age as when he left but he had to go through the haven first. Alice understood all these things and now she could see much more clearly. She and Justin spent a long time together and she finally confronted the fears she had locked away as a baby in another time. Ian finally came to her and told her it was the moment for her to go back. She told Justin that she would look for him and turned just as Tamara and Janice along with the other team members walked into the big room.

Tamara hurried to Ian and hugged him. Janice could see the bright light emanating from this tall young man, it made her feel very safe and secure. The other team members gathered into the room and looked at the carnage of the fish aliens. Jack and Keegan looked at Alice and Ian both with questions flowing from their being. Ian began to speak. “There is an insurrection and genocidal movement between the Xzanturs and the Gyyuuummphers-Ichees species. The Xzanturs were inhabited by the Gyyuuummphers-Ichees many thousands of years ago when the worm species escaped from their alternate Universe that they managed to destroy.” The team had heard some information about these invaders but there were many blank spots as to who these aliens really were and where they had come from. They knew that the worms lived in the fish aliens symbiotically and assumed that the worms were in control. “You all may have been told that the Gyyuuummphers actually controlled the Xzanturs but that is not the truth. The worms, as they have become to be known as could never control the Xzanturs like they can with us humans. The Xzanturs allowed the worms to live in their brains symbiotically because the worms had the same goals or imperial ideas as the Xzanturs and actually traded their superior knowledge for a safe place to live. Be that as it may, the relationship was always filled with jealousy and wants to control completely. The Gyyuuummphers managed to destroy an entire universe and see this universe as becoming their complete slaver system. They do learn at extraordinary speeds and have bided their time which does not seem to be an issue with their long lives. They waited while the Xzanturs expanded and waged war on their quadrant and even tried to control another species that was similar to the human race.”

Ian could see that telling the entire story of these aliens would take too long at this time. He decided to give them enough to fight with for now because the Palace had become infested with both aliens and the war had become quite explosive within and without. “The Xzanturs’s system has been destroyed and now they have arrived here to take over. There is one ship in a very distant orbit from earth and there were many more on their way but that has changed due to a community of space faring civilizations. As it is known now, the Gyyuuummphers have plotted to leave the Xzanturs for a much better species that they can be compatible with and fully control.’ “The human race has presented that opportunity to them and so they are in the process of destroying the Xzanturs as they move into the humans solely by themselves. The Xzanturs have decided to also inhabit the humans solely independent from the worms and so they are at war with each other as well as with the humans on this planet.” Janice asked if there were any other tell tale signs they could utilize to recognize the inhabited humans and by which alien. Ian told the teams that as for now the one sign they had of the Xzanturs being inside a human was the dark aura and of course the voice dissonance. “The Gyyuuummphers are almost undetectable until you come within a certain distance to the human they have taken control of. It is imperative that none of you become inhabited by these worm aliens. They are highly intelligent and have discovered how to detect any of you within a certain distance. It is not know yet just how far that distance is and if they have extended it by now. It is your pineal gland they want and they will feed on that and your brains for a very long time. It is a concerned thought that these aliens seek to replace the human souls and spirits with their own existence of herd mentality as worms. It has been discovered that once they inhabit a human directly this process happens quite rapidly and the human is lost and cannot be saved or retrieved once the worm is removed.”

Ian looked at the two teams and knew that Tamara, Alice and Janice were almost fully open minded, as for the team members, some of them had been given keys to open doors in their minds but for now they were limited. The upper floors of the Palace had become infested with both aliens and there was fighting going on now as these two species fought to gain control. The military minions that surrounded the palace in all three or four lines of defense had also become infested but they were fighting the patriots also so the mass conflagration was growing. He was needed in many places now as well as the other children of the bus and the folks of the haven. It seemed that there had been much more of these aliens on that one ship and they had been dispersed over the world in mass. A lot of folks are wondering just what may happen if more of those ships get through and are able to disperse more of these aliens. Ian was on his way to find others and see if this war had broken out on those ships. The Gyyuuummphers did not have humans to live in on the ships so he could not be sure what was happening as they traveled through the stars. “I am needed elsewhere for now so you will have to get through as best you can. Your main goal is to stop the Emperor. He has been inhabited by the Xzanturs who carry the Gyyuuummphers. He may have already lost one but it is sure that he will be very dangerous with either one controlling him, as his own mind was full of very bad and devious ways.” Ian looked at Tamara, Alice and Janice, nodded once and disappeared.

The teams stood in the corridor in front of the elevator and the stairway door that led to the 1st floor above them. The had explored the entire 1st basement floor for another way into the palace above but came up with zero as for stairs or elevator. The consensus was not to take either one of these because it would be or could be like walking into a meat grinder, knowing that the worms could detect them very easily now. They all could be invisible with the use of the dispance cloaks but that would be useless against the worms. They figured they might have a 50/50 chance to get out of either one of the stairs or elevator as long as one of the worm aliens wasn’t in a human or even still in one of the Xzanturs. That chance came down to how it used to be prior to this damn war the worms and fish had started between one another. Buck sergeant Carrie Newman and Agent Dan Killard walked up the corridor to the team and stopped. Newman asked if anyone had found another way to get to the floor above but it was clear that no had as of yet. “Dan and I think we might have found a way that will get us on that floor without being murdered in this elevator or those stairs.”

Jack and Keegan both turned and said “Sergeant Newman, if you got a way, lets hear it, we are running out of time.” “Okay then, Dan and I checked out the duct system and think we may be able to get above through the duct work and come out through a grill. We will have to do a bit of exploring but we are pretty sure we can do that. It might be tight but it seems to be the only way at this point. Tamara and Alice both stepped forward and volunteered to do the exploring. They figured they were the smallest and could move quicker to find the shortest way and best exit. Carrie and Dan led them all to the easiest place to enter the ducts and they searched around and actually found a ladder that could be placed under the service opening. Tamara and Alice just floated up and entered. The ladder was placed but they all seemed to have the jet belts with the dispance cloaks. They decided to use the ladder anyway. They had to leave some of their gear behind but made sure they had the essentials that would be needed to fight and survive; the rest of it was stored in a utility closet.

Tamara and Alice had floated inside the duct system until they began to hear voices and explored what was in the rooms above. They found an empty room with a grill that could be gotten through and marked it. They managed to find two other empty rooms with large enough grills and created a holographic map. It was less than an hour later that the teams had split up into equal groups and stood in the empty rooms. Tamara and Alice had found some surveillance camera’s and disabled them to appear still in operation. One room was a utility closet and communication was by telepathy now that they were out of the basements. They were in the Palace and the next plan was to stealthily make their way to the Emperor’s main office on the 5th floor. Jack and Keegan knew that they would not be able to get through this labyrinth without some major distraction so Alice made the choice to get beyond the palace and defense lines to give information to the artillery commanders to begin shooting into the inner lines. They were already smacking into the outer rectangle defenses. This would be the final assault on this creepy dictator’s world and the aliens that controlled him.

14. THE FLAMES OF DENVER

Alice had moved to a window in the empty room. She was going to twist into the no-time and come back into time at the head quarters located in the old school house at Fort Lupton. That would be the most secure and easy way for her to get orders to the artillery commanders. Her curiosity to inspect the battle zones however, caused her to choose a different course. She knew the worms could detect her but it was at a certain distance. She became invisible and stepped through the window as she shot straight up. She flew up for almost a mile before coming to a halt. She could see the smoke and the explosions from artillery shells hitting specific targets. The patriots were shelling the outer ring only and targeting the Emperors heavy artillery that was shooting at anything. The minions, for some reason were not shooting directly at the patriot’s artillery but rather were in the process of destroying the urban and suburban areas where the people live. This is how the Emperor and his minions always seemed to operate. Destroy the people to maintain control. This is how it has always been but she knew this was going to change finally. The people, the human race as well as the animal kingdoms and the plant life, in fact the entire mother earth genome was changing to harmonize. She could see the entire rectangle of the outer ring and how it appeared to be on fire. As she looked outward, she could see the urban and suburban areas on fire also and it gave her great sorrow to see it all.

The time to strike inward had arrived. The war for freedom had been slowly moving forward and then the aliens showed up and the war for the human race’s survival became the biggest priority. The world of awakened humans was beginning to take out the dictatorship governments and the Alien invasion slowly became exposed and the war became intense. The humans had been infested very deviously and the death toll grew exponentially. Alice could see what was happening here in Denver with the creepy dictator of the United States and could only catch snippets of what was going on around the world. She watched the flames of Denver and it’s out skirts and entered the no-time and back into time at the old high school. The headquarters that had been set up was very busy. The computer vids were full of soldiers making their way toward the outer defense lines and attacking those lines. There were soldiers falling and taking out groups of the Emperors minions. Alice could see the vids of the artillery squads and the firing of the guns as targets were relayed to the gunners. She looked around the room and spotted General Kenneth Andersen sitting at a table with other high-ranking officers. This entire scene sent her back to another time and another war when she was an officer. That war raged on and was a very bloody, world devastating mess and she lost her corporeal body during that time. Kenneth noticed her and waved her over.

She did not recognize the other men and women sitting around but Kenneth introduced her to them. “Ladies and Gentlemen, please greet General Alice Green. She has been part of our operations since the Area 51 mission.” Alice nodded to each of the officers as they acknowledged her and sat down. Kenneth started to speak to her but she already knew what he was going to ask. She spoke up quickly and told him that they must begin to fire the big howitzers into the inner defense lines and especially the 1st line around the palace. Kenneth looked at her with surprise as did the others. “You know we were going to try to take the palace without damaging the inner city of Denver. We are relying on the two teams that infiltrate the Palace, didn’t you go in to help, you and that other soldier?” Alice looked down for a moment and said “yes General, Justin and I both went in to help. The teams were stopped in the tunnels and Tamara called me and Justin to help get them into the garage. Justin and I did manage to get the teams into the parking garage along with Tamara and Janice Halford. We found a way to reach the second basement but there were alien/humans coming down from above. We bypassed that floor and made it to the 1st basement where we encountered what you would call the war between the aliens. Justin was lost to us during that encounter and we found a safe way to reach the main floor of the palace which brings me to the reason for calling the strikes into the inner lines and this must be done quickly or we stand to lose the teams that are in.” The officers sitting around the table began to talk to each other with argumentive talk. She looked at Kenneth and asked where General Justin Walker was. Kenneth listened to the others for a moment before answering her. “Justin has taken a few squads and is moving to penetrate the lines to get into the palace. He said the two teams would need help so he has gone off on a mission that could be doomed to failure.” Alice acknowledged that response and said “the shelling of those inner lines is needed as distraction. General Walker may be thinking his action now will do the same thing, can you tell me how long ago he left?” Kenneth looked at his chronometer and said “He left about 17 hours ago. It is hard to say what route he took but he studied all the Intel of the lines, I suspect to find the weakest points where he would have the best chances to get through.

Michael set his chopper down close to a mile and half from the southern outer line of defense. He and Samuel had been contacted by General Justin Walker and asked to be taken to a location where the General and his two squads could begin a penetration toward the Palace. Justin had handpicked the two squads to make the 16-man team. He commanded 7 men and women on one squad while Captain Jorge Tyler commanded the other 7 men and women. All 16 soldiers were special ops and had been trained under Sergeant Major Jack Bollard who was in charge on one of the teams that was inside the palace, hopefully by now. Justin was the first one off and scanned the surrounding buildings. Lieutenant Gina Roberts was next and automatically joined the General with her scanner. Two sergeants, three corporals and one Private jumped out next and spread out. All the men had the jet belts with the dispance cloaks. The chopper was cloaked and anyone in the area would never see or hear what had just landed in the small parking lot of a family grocery store for the neighborhood.

Samuel waited for Mary to give him the all clear before he sat the chopper down in the small park that seemed to be deserted. Jorge Tyler tapped his head gear for everyone on his team to activate. The chopper landed and the team activated their jet belts dispance cloaks and communication devices. Jorge was first out the hatch. Sergeant Greg Thornton was next and caught the ammo pack from Sergeant Yvonne Kenny. Sergeant Edina Walker was next followed by Corporal John Kirk and Corporal Lance Anderson. Corporal Henry Gunnison pushed the case of gear that included explosives to the hatch and waited for the other two to drag it out, then jumped down. Sergeant Steven, “Bigman”, Washington came to the hatch and activated his jet belt to let himself out and down. He carried the .50 cal mini gun along with its massive pack of ammo belts. The man was called “Bigman” for a reason. He weighed in around 280 lbs and was all muscle. He stood an impressive 6’7 inches and could carry the armament easily. They all moved away from the chopper quickly into a clump of trees. Jorge gave the go for Samuel to lift off and they all began to fill their packs with the extra gear. Jorge contacted Justin and gave their coordinance and they began to move toward the outer 4th line of defense to meet up inside. The area that General Justin had picked to penetrate was the weakest spot along the southern line so their chance of getting through without being exposed was better than 50 percent at this area. Jorge and the others did not like the odds but it was far better than any other place along the 4th line of defense. Getting past that ½ mile of sneaky defense would be easy enough they all thought. It was the main line that would be tricky.

The shelling could be heard and it seemed like a steady booming now. Justin and Jorge both new that they would have to dodge the shelling from their own guns to get through this outer line of defense, both teams moved out toward the southern main line of defense. Justin broke his team into two-man units and timed their movement toward the line of defense so that each two-man team would be a good 5 to 10 minutes apart. He wanted the teams to cover the area ahead of each other and thus spaced them in a horizontal spread of 50 yards also. They all knew that the dispance cloaks could be compromised if the minions had one of the decloaking devices in operation. There could be any number of these devices placed along the defense line; the INTEL coming in now was saying that these devices were arriving on the line in almost a steady stream. It was taking the minions around 60 minutes to set the damn things up and their teams would start spraying the invisible signals into the air and on the ground. The teams had resolved to use their excellent training to hide and move stealthily without the use of the dispance cloaks, knowing that if they used the cloaking device they would be discovered and most likely shot immediately.

Sergeant Edina Walker spoke into her secure radio to JT. All of the team members called Captain Jorge Tyler, JT. It had something to do with a woman that he called Lorelei that he always talked about and how he was looking for her. “JT, I am picking up at least 3 maybe 4 heat signatures in the building directly in front of us. Could be civilians hanging back but this building is on First Ave. Jorge acknowledged and told her that he was moving along the eastern alley and would enter the building from that side. This could be a minion team watching the main roadway along the northern boundary of the old golf course. He was hoping that the other team members were checking to see where there might be other sneaks of the minions. The old golf course had been abandoned for a few years now and had overgrown with giant clumps of bushes and weeds that would give the two team’s good cover to cross the half mile line of sneak defense and make their way to the main line of 6th avenue where there were other abandoned parks. Justin had picked this course because it seemed that the minion army was thin through this area. Jorge moved stealthily behind old dumpsters and abandoned cars to reach the fire escape on the east side of the building. He knew whoever was in this building would be watching the eastern roadway for sure so he decided to go in the southern side of the building. He was lucky to find a security door that had been ajar and quickly let him self in.

Edina scoped out the second-floor window that was open and made her way to the edge of the building. She had the grappling tether on her utility belt and shot the hook up to the window. It caught inside the room and she pulled herself up quickly. This building was a four story and she figured whoever was on the east side would most likely be on the roof or at least the 4th floor. The shelling was so loud that none of the team members had to worry about making to much noise, they just had to worry about being spotted by some minion. The room had an old mattress on the floor and what looked like a portable refrigerator. She figured some civilian had been living here but possibly abandoned it some time in the recent past. She saw the door to the corridor ajar so moved to it and peeked out. The shelling gave them all a disadvantage, so she was relying on her heat seeking device. She watched it before she moved into the corridor and saw the small blobs moving around. Rats she thought, they come in all different sizes. The building appeared to be empty except for the critters and the four humans. One of the figures seemed to be a bit out of whack like there could be two people in one. She passed it off for now and spoke softly to JT telling him she was in and heading toward the 4th floor. His answer was affirmative and they both moved toward their goal.

As Edina moved toward the stairwell she thought about that double signature and remembered how the aliens could symbiotically inhabit the humans. She stopped outside the stairwell and told JT what she discovered about the humans. She waited for a minute before JT answered. His voice was so low she almost could not hear him. What she did hear was “……an Xzanturs in one……watch your six.” Edina figured JT was close to the group and could be waiting for her to reach her point of action. She opened the stairwell door and let it close easy. She began to climb the stairs quietly and stop in un-rhythmic steps. She entered the third floor and moved to an exterior room. She was going to go through a window and up to the fourth floor to avoid a possible exposure in the stairwell on the 4th floor. Even though she had her heat signature device on and could see the four figures on the eastern side of the building, she was not taking any chances. She looked out the window and ducked back in quickly. A minion scout car was in the process of parking just below her. She heard the voices as the soldiers exited the vehicle and her heat signature device registered 5 additional humans. At least two of them showed the dual signature.

Edina began moving toward the corridor door as she spoke to JT. “We got company and they ain’t friendly. I think two of them are those Aliens and they are moving into the building. What’s your move Captain?” She entered the corridor and was planning to move across the building to the east side and hopefully meet up with JT; the loud bangs of the automatic weapons brought her to a stop. She was breathing hard and slowed down her blood pressure as she listened. Something was wrong and she wanted to know what just happened. Her instinct was to backtrack and find out. She called JT once more to tell him and started to move back to the empty room just as he came around the corner of the corridor and moved toward her. She thought that part of her team came to the building because they could hear her chatter to JT. They were all moving into the old golf course to meet up with General Justin Walker and his team. She was Justin’s daughter and she did her best to keep her distance from him unless she was on leave but that had been a long time now. With all that running through her mind, she moved to the window and peered out. What she could see gave her the creeps and confused her. JT had moved with her to the window and he saw the same thing. He turned and looked at her face. She had gone white and he needed to calm her. Not all of the team members had seen the fish aliens in the raw and the fact that they were lying dead on the pavement below told him that the Worms that lived in the fish had left them and moved into the humans directly which gave him the willies also. “Whoever came in that vehicle is now moving to the those up on the 4th four and I suspect that the fish alien in one of them is going to be killed shortly. We need to be close so we can take them out quickly.” Edina was a bit shaky but they both moved out and toward the 4th floor.

Major Roberto Iperante’ and Lieutenant Trent Coal were both inhabited by the Xzanturs and as they climbed out of the Humvee, they both took out their pistols. Something had moved in both men and they knew that their controllers were going to abandon them. Sure enough, half way to the building the other three soldiers witnessed the separation of aliens from the two officers. Roberto and Trent both raised their pistols and shot the two Piranha looking aliens which caused the three soldiers to raise their rifles and shoot the aliens also. The cacaphony of gun fire going off caused the four soldiers on the fourth floor to jump up and stare at each other. Lieutenant Herbert Grissel pulled his pistol and stood still while the Piranha looking alien stepped out of his body. The Piranha alien raised his weapon quickly and fired at Herbert who shot at the same time. Both he and the Piranha fell to the floor. The worm that had abandoned the Xzanturs and wrapped itself around the human’s pineal gland quickly abandoned the dead human. The closest human to Herbert was Private Nancy Tellerson. The worm moved to her body and seemed to fly to her ear. Nancy did not know what was happening and tried to squirm away from the Lieutenant and the dead fish looking thing.

Gympher-Ich did not expect the Xzanturs to kill his new host. He had to scramble to remove himself from the dead human and the closest human was the female soldier. He quickly moved up her body to the ear and entered as she scrambled to remove herself from the scene. His normal path to the pineal gland seemed a bit blocked but he pressed on and came up against what seemed like an invisible barrier. He became alarmed and frantically searched for a way through. Something was different, as far as he knew at this juncture of knowledge no Gyyuuummphers had entered a female human species. There had been no communication of any of his species doing this before since they had arrived in this system. Something about this human (female) was blocking him from gaining control of the pineal gland and brain. He could not afford to waist any more time as his essence was draining away without perfect fluid of the human’s pineal gland and sustenance of the brain matter. He turned and moved back toward the opening he had come in and when he reached the oxygen rich atmosphere he expected to jump to the closest human. All he could see was empty space in front of the human he was riding on. The very next thing that happened was a loud bang and the female human, violently fell backward into a solid surface which caused him to dislodge from her ear. He fell through space and hit the hard surface of the floor. He was communicating with the central intelligence when a mountain of matter fell on him and he was no more.

JT and Edina had rushed across the building to the east side and jumped into the stairwell. JT was thinking that they could reach the fourth floor and wait for the five soldiers to exit the elevator and take them out before the other four knew what was happening. He was sure they had heard the gun fire and knew that there would gun fire from that team also as it seemed the war between the fish and the worm aliens had moved to a full-blown action now. He had communicated with Justin and the rest of his team was meeting Justin’s team at the old golf course club buildings. Justin asked if he needed backup and JT told them that He and Sergeant Walker would be okay because the minions and the aliens that inhabited them seemed to be killing each other at the moment. Justin made a quick comment and said “watch Edina’s six” and cut the com. JT knew what that meant and felt the love in that comment from a father to daughter.

The small window in the stairwell door did not give a very clear view of the corridor as JT peered out. The stairwell was dark so he could peer through the glass without being seen to easy. He watched the elevator door open and two soldiers move out and to the side. The sound of gun fire up here was muffled somewhat but he knew it would happen. What he saw next is what surprised him even though he expected something like it to happen. Two soldiers came out of the door just to his right and opened fire at the elevator. The two soldiers that had exited the elevator first began to fire back. One of them went down and the two that came out of the door into the corridor both went down. Another soldier came through the door and was gunned down quick enough. JT caught the exit of something from the soldier’s ear and then the soldier fell to the floor after bouncing off the wall. For God sakes, the soldier was a woman he saw as her helmet fell off. He looked at the elevator and could see that two of the soldiers were down and now the three that were left in the car began to walk out. He knew that the Xzanturs (fish) aliens were no longer in these people but at the same time he also knew that at least two of them were now controlled by the worm aliens and that alone told him that two of them were lost forever. He guessed that the two officers were the ones controlled as he opened the stairwell door and opened fire on them.

Edina was directly behind JT as he moved through the door with his rifle blazing. She dove to his right and hit the floor as the one soldier that was behind the first two officers began to pull the trigger on his rifle. She fired a short burst and the soldier fell backward into the elevator car. She had noticed that the soldier that was shot coming from the room was a woman and could see that she might still be alive. She waited for JT to give her an all clear and crawled across the corridor to the downed soldier. JT had moved cautiously to the two downed officers and witnessed the exit of something very small from each of their ears. He stood away and could see that these creatures were trying to move toward him and Edina. Not taking any chances he smashed the first one with the butt of his rifle and put his foot down on the second one as it moved toward Edina who was busy with the downed woman soldier. The sound these things made as they were extinguished was almost excruciating to the ear.

Edina had moved to the woman soldier’s side and turned her over. The woman moaned and opened her eyes wide. Edina could see where she had been shot and knew the woman did not have much time left. She took out a morphine shot which had survived the ravages of time to be used in war during times like this and was getting ready to inject it when the woman reached up and stayed her hand. Nancy spoke as quickly as she could and as loudly as she could which wasn’t all that loud. “The…..worm…. tried to…..invade…. me, but could not for some reason….you must tell….your compatriots. I am an….under….cover….agent. Please….let them….know…. that the worms….can….not get….into….a….female…..brain. I don’t know why.” Edina jabbed the morphine into the woman’s abdomen because she knew that would be the quickest way for it to work. Nancy felt the pain dissolve and squeezed Edina’s wrist. “Tell General Andersen, he will know what to do” Nancy had become completely relaxed and stared into Edina’s eyes as her last breath left her body. Edina looked at her and it took a few moments for her to realize the woman had stopped breathing. She reached up and closed the soldier’s eyes as JT came up. He had made sure the others would not cause any problems and was getting ready to enter the room where this soldier and the other two had come from. He knew there was at least one more but was not sure if he was alive.

Lieutenant Herbert Grissel lay in a pool of his own blood. His mind was almost blank. He could barely think about the fish alien that had invaded him a few months earlier and then there was something else that took control of him and he killed the original controller as it shot him also. The thing that was in his mind abandoned him very quickly so he still had something of his own memory. The soldier that was closest to him scrambled away quickly and he was able to see that something had entered her ear before his mind lost cohesion. He was still breathing when two soldiers came into the room. That was all he could disseminate before he expired. JT saw the dead fish alien and then the human officer. He thought the man might still be alive but as he approached, he could see the man die. It was known that humans could survive after one of the fish aliens vacated them but it was also known that once the worm alien inhabited the brain directly the human was lost. He did not know how long this soldier was inhabited directly but it was clear that he suffered a huge loss prior to the worm abandoning his mind. It was the projectile from the fish alien that had actually killed the man. Edina had rolled the dead woman soldier over and discovered the smeared worm thing. Today was a great learning experience. They found out that the worms could not invade a female mind or so it was relayed by the dead agent. They were not sure how that worked but the information could be relayed to HQ and perhaps could be used against the Worms. The idea that these worms were so vulnerable outside the human or even alien body gave hope for fighting the things. JT radioed Justin and told him they were on their way and that this viper nest was destroyed.

The shelling seemed to get louder as JT and Edina entered the old golf cart garage. Both teams were scattered around the perimeter of the building to watch for any activity. Their next move was to cross under the 1st avenue roadway and into the ritzy neighborhood. They had a good half mile to traverse before crossing the outer defense line that was being shelled heavily at the moment. They would have to move in small teams like before and whoever got across first would have to check out any outposts of minions that may be hiding along this roadway. The goal was to quietly take any of them out to keep from alerting the main line defense. Justin was unsure how they would cross those inner walls to get into the palace at this moment but he was always the one that could think quickly on his feet. JT moved to Justin and gave his short report. He told Justin that Edina had been given some important information from a woman soldier that said she was an undercover agent. Justin’s eyes grew wider and he spoke directly to Sergeant Walker. Even though the Sergeant was his daughter he spoke to her like a soldier. “Sergeant, did this soldier give her name?” Edina spoke back as a Sergeant would. “No Sir, she was taking her last breath as she told me some very important information.” Justin knew the undercover agent but he wasn’t sure if it was Nancy. He and Kenneth both had briefed the woman before she left to get into the minion’s army. She was very informed on the aliens, both of them and had left prior to the new development of them warring with each other. He looked at his daughter and hoped that she would not be taken from him before this nightmare ended. “What did the soldier tell you that seemed to be so important Sergeant?”

Edina was mulling over the conversation that the woman soldier told her. It was a bit odd so she forged on to the General. “That woman said she was invaded with one of those worm aliens and the thing left her mind free. She was trying to tell me that the worm could not get into her brain for some reason.” The General had to think for a moment and mentioned the fact that the woman agent had some special qualities that could account for that but he needed to be sure. “Did this woman give you clarity of the worm being in her or could it have just been riding her at that moment?” Edina spoke up on this point. “The woman was quite sure the worm tried to invade her brain; I don’t know for sure but her conviction of that fact was overwhelming to me as she spoke. She was very close to the original host, an officer when he and the fish alien that was in him separated and shot each other. She saw the worm come from the human officer and jump on her as she scrambled to get away. She told me that she felt it when it entered her ear and she could feel it moving in her head. She was brief as you can imagine and I gave her the morphine stick.” Justin turned to Captain Tyler and spoke. “Did you see anything Captain?” “Yes Sir, I did see something fall from the woman soldier’s ear as she was thrown backward into the wall. I can’t say it was the worm for sure but we did find the remains of what could be a small worm under the body of the woman. We also found the dead human officer and the fish alien’s body in the room so that worm had to have traveled with that woman. Why it did not implant itself into her brain is the mystery for sure but your guess is as good as mine.”

This mystery was getting more complicated by the moment. Justin stepped aside and told his teams that it was time to move out. There were a number of women soldiers on the teams and from what he was thinking was there was something different about the women that the worms could not get into their brains. He turned back to Edina and JT and said that someone needed to get this information back to headquarters. “I don’t know of any women officers that have been invaded by just the worms however, there are some that have been taken over by the fish aliens. He spoke quickly now and gave his teams orders to move out in intervals of 10 minutes and once on the far side of the avenue to spread out and inspect any viper nests that could be hiding along that road. He then turned back to JT. “Captain, I need you to take the Sergeant and get her back to an LZ and get up to HQ with this info. I will give Lieutenant Roberts your command for now. You get the Sergeant back to HQ and in one piece. It would seem we got some real important info that may just turn this war to our favor, now get going.”

The big Howitzer rounds were hitting into the second wall away from the palace and some began to pummel the first defense wall. The outer ring of defense appeared to be on fire although the minion howitzers and tanks were firing out into the surrounding areas of Denver and creating their own fires. Denver and its surround towns and cities had become a flaming nightmare. People remembered the war zones of past urban wars and how it did not matter where you might try to hide or run to, it was all on fire. The Patriot army had tried and wanted to avoid this as much as possible but it was all resting on a few teams that could hopefully get to the center and stop the entire thing. The air wars had begun also and this was happening around the globe now as the aliens gained ground with the minion armies of the emperors. Alice had met up with Samuel and Mary along with Sally and Ken. She asked where the General and his teams had been dropped. Mary told her and said they were going to move northward between Broadway and University Avenues. Alice gave them all a farewell and twisted into the no-time and back out in the general vicinity of the LZ. She tried to read General Walkers mind but with all the shelling and confusion she could not make contact with him so she turned invisible and began flying north hoping to reach the General to give forewarning of the new directive of shelling the inner wall defenses.

JT and Edina did not like the fact that they had to abandon their original mission but both knew that getting the information about the possibility of the worms not being able to invade the female humans was the most important thing to do for the war effort. JT decided to back track because they both knew that the way was clear now. They scurried through the parking lot of the building where the minions had eliminated each other and stopped to look at the dead fish aliens. JT shivered at the sight of these things but knew that these aliens were quite intelligent and had conquered an entire system before that system was destroyed by a super nova according to the INTEL from folks that had first hand information. JT was to the understanding that the special people that lived in the place called the Haven had somehow discovered these alien’s original system and knew what was coming to earth. There were plans being taken to stop a bigger force of this race of beings from reaching their objective. It was the worm race that was the most dangerous even though they were quite vulnerable. Edina bumped his arm and moved toward the southern side of the parking lot. “Come on JT, we have to get further south before we can call for a pickup.” Jorge looked up from the dead fish aliens and moved to catch the Sergeant.

Jorge and Edina had scurried through the commercial zones and residential areas until they reached a good mile south of the golf course. Jorge was getting ready to call Samuel to get a pickup when the little girl became visible in front of them. Edina looked directly at Alice and said “General Green, we were just getting ready to call Samuel to come and pick us up.” Alice looked at the Sergeant and then at the Captain that was looking back at where they had come from. She moved to the Captain and told him to drop down “NOW.” Jorge hit the ground and rolled toward a dumpster. Edina had turned just as Jorge dropped and did the same. She knew that something was happening that could get them killed and her instinct caused her to drop when she saw Jorge drop. The heavy round smacked into the side of a building and blew a sizable chunk of the brick to the ground. The second round whistled over Edina’s head and took a sizable chunk of a tree’s main trunk out. Edina rolled over to the nearest abandoned Auto and leaned herself up against the front. She looked over at Jorge who had gotten himself behind the Dumpster and was looking at her. “You okay, it appears we got a sniper behind us.” Edina shook her head and looked around for the General. She didn’t see her anywhere and slowly looked around the vehicle to see where the sniper could be located. She saw the flash of light and ducked back just as the large round slammed into the side of the vehicle and ricocheted off into the pavement. Jorge and Edina were pinned down. A round went through the top window of the vehicle and once again Edina heard the whistling of the round as it went over her head. Jorge was getting rounds on both sides of the dumpster.

Sergeant Hemmel Gristum had watched the two-patriot soldier’s move from the North to the south. He waited for them to get a good distance away before he was going to shoot the man first then the woman. As he squeezed the trigger of his first round, he saw what seemed to be an apparition in the air by the man. His distraction was short but when he brought it back to the man whom he knew would be dead, the man was rolling away. He cursed and pulled the trigger on the Barrette semi-automatic .50 cal. That round bounced into the dumpster and carried into a building. He quickly swung his aim at the woman who had also dropped to the pavement and was rolling away. He watched her roll to a cover of the vehicle that was parked. The automatic response of the shot he took flew into a tree trunk and left a sizable gash as it flew off to someplace else. He began to shoot the car and around the dumpster hoping that one of these patriots would poke enough of their head out for him to take it off. The apparition had spooked him and now he didn’t know if he hit one of them. He had a clear view of the dumpster and the vehicle so neither one of them were going to get out and come for him unless they wanted to die. He heard something to his side or thought he did anyway and turned to see what it might be. The apparition stood or floated within a couple of feet from him. The hair on his neck stood straight up as he let go of his rifle and pulled his knife. The little apparition reached out and touched him and he heard her say. “Enjoy the war Mr. Hemmel.” He stood up and looked around. The sun was blazing hot and the desert sand stretched forever. He was still holding his knife and his rifle was still in its position. He was kneeling and heard the sound of something that was very foreign yet almost familiar. The old-fashioned Messerschmitt Bf 109 flew over his head with a loud roar. Two more followed closely behind. He could not believe his eyes. These planes were world war II German Luftwaffe or so he had studied. He stood up and watched them fly over. One of them turned in the sky and circled around. As he watched it dove at him and the two machine guns that were so deadly during that long-forgotten war chopped the sand up and caught him as the plane flew over. He was thrown backward and lay in the hot sand as his life force drained from him. How ironic that he would die in a war that he so admired and had wished to take part in when he was a young man. The desert swallowed him up as quickly as the planes flew east.

Alice materialized on the pavement where Jorge and Edina had first saw her and said “It is okay to come out now, the soldier has left for the war of a past and will not be returning.” Edina stood up and walked out from behind the car. She was being leery but this little General gave her a confidence. “What war would that be?” “Oh, it was a war in the last century that was called the second war.” Jorge walked over and asked why she was out here. Alice turned to him and said “I need to tell Justin about the change in plans. We are going to shell those interior defense walls to create a distraction for the two teams inside the Palace.” Edina looked at JT and said “we have to go back and catch Justin and the teams before they get caught in that shelling. They figured once we got through the outer defense line and all the shelling it would be easy to get to the inner lines and over. This change is going to be hell for them now and they don’t know what they are walking into.” JT motioned to her and said “hold for a minute Sergeant” and asked the little General “How soon before the shelling begins on those walls?”

Alice looked at the sky and back to JT. “Captain, we have two teams of patriots inside the palace as we speak. They fought all the way to the first floor and are hiding on that floor to make their move to the Emperor. That is the final goal and once he is taken out along with that worm that has made its move to destroy the fish alien that virtually took over months ago, we can clean this world easier. The worms have committed an insurrection on their hosts the Xzanturs and have now taken over the human power structure directly. The Xzanturs are being systematically destroyed so the worms can become the conquerors of this system and take the controlled human race into the space community and begin to conquer until they create the universe they destroyed before coming into ours. The shelling has already begun on those walls. I asked General Andersen to give me time enough to alert Justin but he has begun due to time constraints. We need to create the diversion as quick as possible or the teams will be found and most likely killed. So, do you want to tell me where he is so I can get to him quickly and why are you and Sergeant Walker out here?”

Edina had stood by and listened to the information from General Green. “What about General Walkers plan to create a diversion to help those in the palace also, is this mission going to be scrubbed?” Alice understood the frustration and need to warn her father and hopefully help those people in the palace however, time was up and Justin and his team’s would only be able to draw a small portion of the Alien/Emperor’s troop’s attention away from the palace and could be killed in the process “I understand your concern for this mission Sergeant Walker but your father can not get to the palace in time to help the others and the best he will be able to do now is by all means create a diversion but away from those walls. The walls are going to come down with heavy shelling so the diversion will be away from the palace. You still haven’t told me why you and Captain Tyler are out here and not with your team?”

Edina became flushed in the face, she did not like it when someone connected her to her father, General Walker and her team mates found out the hard way when they brought up that fact. This little girl, General for sure, sounded a bit flippant to her and she was doing everything to hold her outburst to the General. JT knew exactly what was running through Edina’s mind and spoke up to cool her down. “General Green, Sergeant Walker gathered some very important information that can be used against the worm aliens. General Walker ordered Sergeant Walker and me to get this information back to HQ immediately. This is why we are out here and we need to get Samuel to pick us up.” Alice could feel the heat build up in the Sergeant when she mentioned Justin as being her father. She knew that Edina had walls encasing her memories and that there were many doors that were locked in her mind. She surveyed her and the Captain quickly and set a healing aside for now. “What is this important Information you have? I will help you get back to base but first we must alert General Walker to the change of plans.”

The little General seemed to be in a giant hurry and Edina could not blame her because she was very anxious herself to get the important info to HQ and notify her father about the shelling that they would now be walking into. JT spoke up and said, “General, General Walker and the special ops teams were gathered at the old golf course on the south side of the First Avenue freeway. When I and Sergeant Walker left, they were on the move to cross that freeway and head north to the main outer defense line. They could be at that line as we speak or across it by now.” Sergeant Walker tried to save a dying soldier, a female and this is important. The soldier told her that she was an undercover agent for the patriots and when the officer that was inhabited by the Fish alien became directly inhabited by the worm thing from the Fish alien, that officer then shot the fish alien as it had abandoned his being. Unfortunately, for the worm, the fish alien shot the officer at the same time he shot the fish being.’ “The worm that had taken over the officer directly had to abandon the human officer and the female agent/soldier was the closest to the officer.” JT looked at Edina and motioned for her to finish.

“The soldier, told me that the worm tried to enter her brain to control her but could not get in. She did not know what was keeping the worm out of her brain but the thing tried to abandon her quickly. Unfortunately, she followed a corporal into the corridor and was shot by some minion soldiers that had come up the elevator. The worm fell from her and was crushed as she fell to the floor. She tried to tell me that she thought the worms could not inhabit the female genome. She died before telling me something else she knew of this particular Alien species.” Alice listened with great interest. She knew the worms had tried to take her over as well as Janice but never got close enough to either of them. She was in major danger when she found them on the 1st basement floor. It was scary that they hypnotized her with some deep locked up fears and encircled her in that room but never tried to get into her brain. She could not be sure about that but this information from Sergeant Walker was another piece of the puzzle, albeit a bigger piece. She knew about the agent before she was sent into the enemy camp and was sorry to hear that she had died. “Okay, the info you have will add to our research and a test. We must be sure before we send soldiers into this fray of aliens that seem to know the human race very well now or so they may think. Let’s go warn General Walker of this danger he is walking into and hopefully he can do a distraction away from those walls.”

15. WALLS

Lieutenant Gina Roberts looked through her binoculars at the destruction of the outer defense line along 6th Avenue. It was clear that the shelling had taken its toll on the Emperor’s minions. The surrounding buildings were aflame and the destruction of the artillery and other vehicles was gruesome to look at. She had taken command of Captain Tyler’s team and was the first ones to get on the north side of the 1st avenue from the old Golf course. General Walker had given them 1 hour to get across and check for any snipers or nests of minions hiding and waiting for a chance to back stab the patriots as they made they way to that fateful outer line that now was aflame and virtually destroyed in the area they would cross on their way to those outer walls of the inner defense lines of the Emperor. Her team had found one nest of vipers hiding in one of the ritzy class homes and took them out. The long-range infrared meters they had did not show any more heat signatures that could be counted as human. They were supposed to meet up with General Walker on the north side of 6th Avenue and from there they would make their way to the first walls of the second defense line. She could see some soldiers moving around the area they planned to move through. She was sure these soldiers had already experienced hell as the shelling kept falling on them. Her team would have to take these people out to remain secret in their mission. If even one of those minions saw any member of her team cross that line, she was sure that the main force would be alerted and there would follow a major man hunt with a security beef up. General Walker had briefed both teams on how important it was to remain secret as they got in and approached those inner walls.

General Justin Walker had taken his squad across the First Avenue and moved to the east as they melted into the rich neighborhoods of the south country club area. His team had cleaned out two nests of minions that seemed to be resting very comfortably in the big mansions that infested this area called the country club. There were two four-man teams and none were infested with either one of the aliens. Four of the eight had died quietly and the other four put up a short fire fight before succumbing to a violent end. The firefight was loud for sure but short and Justin spread his team out as they headed north to the 6th Avenue. They did not come across any other minions which made them all a bit leery. His team was close to the University Avenue that crossed 6th Avenue which was the plan as JT, Now Lieutenant Roberts team was closer to Broadway. He stood on the roof top of a three-story office building and scoped out the destruction on the 6th Avenue line of defense. Justin could hear and see in the distance the explosions caused by the patriot’s howitzers as they lobbed shells into the defense lines of the Emperor. The 6th Avenue line was on fire and he could see soldiers moving around. He spoke to his team and told them to move at caution to the line of defense and take anyone out that stood in their way to cross. At best he preferred everyone to cross without notice from any minions of the Emperor’s. He had picked a small park just south of Colfax Avenue for both teams to meet up. Once they reached this park, they would split up again and head west toward the second wall system out from the Palace. Getting over that wall would be a strategy once they saw what the wall looked like. Justin looked at his chronometer and moved to the stairs. Time was running out and he thought about the teams inside the palace. He had not heard any INTEL about their progress and hoped that he and his teams could reach the palace to cause a distraction for them to accomplish their mission.

Alice reached into JT’s mind and saw the building that the teams had come together at the old Golf course. She touched JT and Edina and sent them to that place as she blinked to the same place. The building was empty and JT said that the teams were getting ready to move across the First Avenue to get themselves across the 6th Avenue defense line. Neither Edina nor JT knew the path the teams took from the Golf course to get to the 6th Avenue so from here they would have to make their way to that defense line and hope they could find General Walker on the way to the meeting place up at the Colfax Avenue. The Sun was setting behind the western mountains in a haze of dusty red. The booming of the shelling was intermittent but as with any war, the sounds had almost become natural as the two adult soldiers and one Child General scurried under the overpass and moved with hurried runs to covered places. Alice knew that at any moment a stray bullet could find one of them so she was on high alert to counteract any harmful object. They made their way through the rich neighbor hoods and came upon the fires and cacophony of the 6th avenue defense line.

Sergeant Steven Washington and Corporal Gunnison waited, behind the burnt-out hulk of the big howitzer for the 3 minion soldiers to walk further away. The minions seemed to have been patrolling the defense line where most of the damage seemed to be located at this time. Sergeant Washington gave Gunnison the go ahead a few minutes later and the Corporal scooted low across the open ground to another vehicle that still had flames shooting from the top area. Gunnison set up his binoculars and checked the area to the west and east for any humans and found some that were at least 500 yards away in either direction. He gave the go ahead to Steven and the big man carried his bulk of weapons and himself across the opening to the position of Gunnison. Steven moved to the other side of the vehicle and looked through his night binoculars. The fires were burning into the west and back toward the east now. The shelling appeared to be in a lull at the moment but Steven knew it would start again. The main plan was to shell this outer line until the Emperor’s army had to move back. He could still hear explosions from the shelling and they seemed to be closer in toward the Palace. He turned to Gunnison and asked “did we get some INTEL about shelling further in?” Gunnison spoke as he looked through his binoculars at the 3 soldiers walking their way from the west. “Not that I know of Sergeant, we should move from this position and get further in before those soldiers get here.” Steven turned his binoculars to the west and saw the soldiers as they moved toward him and Gunnison. He immediately backed away and began to move in a line with the destroyed vehicle between him and the soldiers coming toward them. Gunnison waited for a moment and then followed. They found a way to duck into cover and moved toward the north quickly.

Further to the east, General Walkers team had already made it across the 6th Avenue line and weaved their way through the destroyed vehicles and burning buildings. It was uncanny that there were no minion soldiers in the area where they crossed. Justin figured the minions abandoned this particular are because it seemed to receive more shelling and the landscape showed it painfully. Justin’s team melted into the northern country club on their way toward that small park close to Colfax Avenue. They had spread out once again and were using the ultra-red heat seekers while moving through the neighborhood. Justin had gathered INTEL that showed this entire strip of land from 6th Avenue to Colfax had been abandoned by the civilians a few months earlier. This did not mean the area was empty, there could still be some civilians that stayed and the teams knew that when they registered any humans in this strip of land they would have to investigate to see if the humans were friendly or enemy minions.

Captain Jorge Tyler looked through his binoculars at the burning vehicles and buildings on the north side of 6th Avenue. Sergeant Edina Walker had moved to the west side of the building they had come to and could see a group of minion soldiers across the Avenue. “JT, you seeing the minions?” “Yes Sergeant, I see them and it appears they are spreading out to guard this area. Do you see that soldier with the extra big back pack and that rifle looking thing he is carrying?” “Yes, what is that thing?” “I think the minions have made a portable Anti-cloaking device that can be carried by a single man. If that is what I think it is those minions can carry the devices everywhere and not have to drive a small caravan to an isolated spot.” Jorge turned to speak to General Green and she was gone. He heard the screeching sound from across the Avenue and brought his binoculars up once again and could see the soldiers raising their weapons toward the air. Three of the men were pointing into the sky. It was dark now but the flames lit up this group of people. The soldier that had the big back pack on pointed the rifle looking device into the sky and moved it around. Jorge could see a fluorescent light green color flashing around. The soldiers were pointing their weapons wherever the green color moved. Jorge knew they were using the Anti-cloaking device but there did not seem to be any target for them to shoot at. Jorge and Edina both could see where and who was doing the awful screeching sound. Jorge understood that the three soldiers that were screeching were inhabited by one or more of the aliens. He suspected the worms had taken over these men due to what he and Sergeant Walker had witnessed. He heard Edina ask him where the General was and turned to see her standing close to him.

Alice had stepped into the no-time and came out about 20 feet above the minion soldiers. She knew the worms could detect her and others like her at a certain distance. She had known that distance was close to 5 feet but was not sure that the distance could be further. The INTEL she had heard from Edina and Jorge that came from agent Tellerson about the worms not being able to enter into a female brain and pineal gland gave her hope and comfort. She now figured she could confront the inhabited humans and send them away safely without being inhabited herself. She knew that some of these soldiers below were inhabited and for some odd reason could feel the ones that were inhabited. She had conveyed the latest INTEL to Tamara and Janice and the folks in the choppers by telepathy almost immediately after receiving the information. She was invisible and the Anti-cloaking device would not affect her. She lowered herself toward the three worm infested soldiers and as she passed the 10-foot mark, all three of them began screeching and becoming very animated. They could not see her but they were pointing into the sky as they hoped around. The other soldiers were waving their rifles around pointing into the sky. Alice closely watched them as she dropped to the worm humans and began to touch them. The first one howled and disappeared. The second one moved backwards but not fast enough as Alice moved to him and sent him into a deadly place were nothing could survive. The soldiers had stopped their movements of waving the rifles in the air and starred at the worm humans. It was Sergeant Yanov Asomof who shot the remaining worm officer as he ran back toward the west. Alice took the opportunity to move to where the worm had exited the human and made it disappear where it appeared in a trap at headquarters where there were scientists studying the aliens that had been captured in other places.

Yanov Asomof looked at the remaining soldiers and waited for them to say something or make a move. All four of them were looking at the dead officer as if the whole thing that just happened was surreal. The other two officers that had disappeared right in front of them had made them lower their weapons and stand very still. Corporal Munster was the one that was wearing the Anti-cloaking device and the exercise in flashing the beam into the sky wherever the officers were pointing and screeching had left him exhausted. The screeching had rattled his mind and hearing and he could see the others were fairly upset at the noise that issued from the officers. When the Sergeant had shot the third officer as he ran away, they all were shocked to complete silence. Herman felt a relief in his being to see the three officers go away. All of them had felt the strangeness in the officers when they first showed up. In fact, there had been a group of 20 officers that seemed to join the troops on the line and came out of nowhere. None of the enlisted men knew any of the officers, so everyone shied away from the strange officers and some actually said they were aliens. Sergeant Asomof spoke to them, “do any of you have a problem with what I just did?” He waited for their response.

Jorge and Edina both watched the soldiers and saw the Sergeant shoot the officer as he ran away. They both watched closely as the remaining soldiers stood around and seemed to be talking. Jorge spoke to Edina, “I would like to hear what those soldiers are saying. You think they might be considering deserting the Emperor?” Edina could read lips and said “That Sergeant has just asked the others if they had any problems with what he has done.” Jorge turned to her and asked how she knew that. Edina did not lower her binoculars and said, “you know something that most others do not as of now. I have always been able to read lips. My Father knows it and a few others but I have kept it a secret most of my life.” “Sounds like you have a special gift” Edina dropped her binoculars and turned. Jorge jerked and did the same. Alice was floating at eye level to the two tall soldiers. “You know Sergeant Walker, you have gifts that haven’t been developed yet as you Captain, have many yourself. We will talk of these again, for now that Sergeant over there shot the remaining worm controlled human and I do believe he knew the officer was not human. The soldiers that are left are debating in their selves what will be the next move. They are all complete humans and do not have any aliens inhabiting them. They will desert the Emperor and in truth that Sergeant is as we speak asking them to leave the minion side and find the patriots.” Jorge had to ask, “how do you know this for sure?” Alice looked at him and started to speak but Edina spoke first. “Because I can hear them talking now and they are going to leave that side.” “You can hear them, I thought you could read lips but hearing them, Sergeant Walker, is there other interesting gifts you haven’t told me about?”

On the far side of the Avenue Sergeant Yanov Asomof and four men with him began to move across the road. They had decided to abandon the Emperor’s army and hopefully find the patriots and not get shot before they could declare an allegiance to the better cause. A few miles north, General Walker and his two teams continued to weave their way through the open neighborhoods of the upper class. The big houses were located on minimum acres of 2 and some bigger. They all appeared to have big swimming pools and some had barns where horses could be kept. They had not seen any animals of yet nor any people in the surrounding buildings as they moved across these expansive properties. The shelling was louder to the northwest and Justin began to wonder what was being shelled other than the northern line of defense that was located on the I-70. He decided to climb to the top story of a rather large house and hope to get on the roof so he could see further north and west. Sergeant Kathleen Anderson went with him and as they walked through the big foyer a dog came out of a room and began to bark and growl at them. Kathleen stopped Justin from shooting the poor beast and began to talk quietly and calmly to it which caused it to stop barking and growling. Kathleen walked toward the dog as she quietly talked to it and the dog laid down on the floor. Justin watched in amazement as Kathleen bent down and began to pet the animal. She turned and told Justin to go up the big curved stairs while she sat with the dog. “This fellow has been abandoned and he is very hungry so I am going to find something for him while you go up and surveil the west.” Justin shook his head and started climbing the stairs.

Sergeant Yanov Asomof led his men across the Avenue and down an embankment. He meant to lead them south until they got beyond that ½ mile secret line. He wasn’t sure what they would do if and when they were confronted by the Emperor’s soldiers but they had discussed that possibility before they set out. The goal was to avoid any Emperor soldiers and hopefully find the patriots where they would surrender and declare desertion from the Emperor forces and allegiance to the patriots. None of them were cowards and did not mind fighting but they wanted to fight for the right cause and it seemed that the Emperor had been taken over by alien beings from a far, far away place. The military had become infested it appeared and the Emperor wanted to control the world where the human beings would be nothing more than a food source and fodder for the alien beings that he had seen. He knew his native country; Russia was under the same threat as he had received communication from his older brother who fought with the people for freedom and life. At the bottom of the embankment they entered a road that would take them south although Yanov wanted to stay off roads so they moved slightly to the west onto a large lot that had a big house that was close to the Avenue. Yanov told his men to look sharp as they began their journey from the alien infested military of the Emperor.

Jorge and Edina had watched the soldiers cross the Avenue and drop off the edge before they found cover and waited for them to walk by. General Green had disappeared shortly after the soldiers began to walk across the Avenue and Jorge and Edina were getting use to this by now. “You know Sergeant, we could be shot almost immediately by the Patriot soldiers if and when they see us in these uniforms.” “Yes, Corporal Munster, I am well aware of that but if we dress in civilian clothing we could also be shot as spies and I would rather take a chance with this uniform than have to argue a defense against being branded a spy.” The booming could be heard as they continued their walk toward the south. Jorge and Edina watched as the 5 soldiers walked by them and waited for them to get beyond a few yards. They both had heard the conversation and wondered if these soldiers were really defecting from the Emperor minions. Jorge stepped out of the bushes and began to walk up behind the soldiers. Edina had flipped the safety off her rifle and waited. Jorge spoke quietly and said “you men lost?” All five of them stopped and spun around. Jorge had his rifle resting at a position that could be used quickly and his safety was also off. Alice was just above the 5 and ready to cause any that made a threatening move, to disappear. One man began to raise his rifle but Sergeant Asomof quickly told him to hold his position while he lowered his rifle to the ground. “Yes Captain, we seemed to be lost but we are looking for the Patriot army so we can turn ourselves over to them. Are you perhaps one of the Patriots?” Jorge did not speak back to this Sergeant yet because he was watching closely the others that still had their weapons holding at the ready.

Alice had read all the minds and hearts of the 5 soldiers and found only one that was still loyal to the Emperor. The man did not want to give himself away and was planning to gather information to feed back to the high brass of the Emperor. He was dressed as a lowly private but in reality, was a Captain also. Alice wanted to expose him but decided to wait and see what would happen within the next few minutes. She would be quick to relocate this soldier if he made any sudden moves that presented danger to anyone. Sergeant Asomof was the only one that had laid his weapon on the ground and now he told his men to do the same. They all turned to him and began to lay their weapons on the ground. Private Grinchman was the only one that waited for the others to disarm before reluctantly doing the same. They all still had their pistols on their sides and that could present a big problem so Jorge ask them to remove the pistols also. Yanov removed his pistol and placed it next to his rifle while the others began to do the same. Grinchman, again was reluctant to completely disarm but his training as a spy made him put his pistol down. Once the soldiers were disarmed, Jorge spoke to the Sergeant. “It would appear that you men are deserting the Emperor’s military, am I right in making that assumption?”

Justin Walker climbed the big winding stairs up to the 3rd floor of this mansion. Once on the 3rd floor he found a drop-down stair hatch to get to the attic. When he climbed into the attic, he was surprised but not completely taken off guard. There was an unfinished apartment and at the west side there was a double door system that opened onto a balcony deck. He could see fires and explosions through the glass doors and quickly moved to them and entered the outside balcony. He moved to the short guard wall and looked through his binoculars toward the west. He could see the outer wall of the second defense line of the Palace and watched as places were exploding and on fire. This is what surprised him. The inner defense line was not supposed to be hit until the patriot army took out the outer most defense lines and set up an invasion force to take the walls down. The goal was to not destroy the inner areas with shelling if at all possible. He could barely see the inner wall system but it was burning and exploding also. He looked at his chronometer and back up at the destruction happening. Damn, he thought, we’re too late. He turned and started to go back down but a movement caught his eye. He flashed his torch toward the movement and lit up two children huddling in the far corner of the balcony.

Yanov looked at his men and had taken notice of Private Grinchman and his reluctance. There was something about this man that gave Yanov suspicion but he could not put a finger on the man yet. “Yes Captain, your assumption is correct, we have made the choice to leave the Emperor’s army and fight for the right cause which would be humanity. It has come to our attention that the Emperor and a large amount of our army has been invaded by an off-world alien species. I would assume that you are part of the patriot army then?” Jorge had taken a deep breath to the answer from the Sergeant and some of the tension in his body was relieved however, there was the one man that seemed to be very anxious that also did not disarm like the others. “Yes Sergeant, you would be right in that thinking. I and my compatriots are part of the Patriot Army. If you are sincere in deserting that Army, we can make arrangements for you to join the Patriots and be located to a fighting force that is in action against this alien invasion to dominate the human race on this planet.

Alice dropped down behind some brush and became visible. She walked out on the blind side of the men as they were all looking at Captain Tyler. The night was moonless this night but the lights that were still on along the Avenue lit up this particular area quite well. She wondered how anyone living close to the road ever got any sleep. She came up behind the Sergeant and stopped about 10 feet from him. Jorge had watched her come from the brush and walk up behind the soldiers. When she stopped, Jorge asked her “well General what do you think about taking on these men to fight for humanity?” The Sergeant was the first to turn around, thinking he would see a full-grown man dressed as a General. The others turned enough to see the General also. They all thought that there would be a contingent of soldiers holding weapons on them. Yanov looked into the air and had to take another look when he noticed a small child standing at least 10 feet from him. The little girl was dressed in a full-blown General’s uniform and was smiling at him. Yanov turned and looked at the Captain and said “may I ask what this is all about?” Jorge just looked at him and the other men that had also turned back to him to hear the answer. Jorge told them that the General was genuine. Yanov turned back and almost fell over backwards because the little girl was floating at eye level to him and very close. “What the hell?” he said as he struggled to keep his balance.

Yanov and his men all looked with astonishment at the little girl, dressed as a General, floating in the air. The first word from Yanov’s mouth was “what are you?” “I am a General in the Patriot Army and you Mr. Asomof, are a Sergeant from the enemy camp. You have made mention of deserting that army and perhaps joining the Patriots. You might say that I am the one that can verify whether you and your compatriots are sincere with your intent.” “And how might you do that other than us giving our word and disarming ourselves to a single man?” Alice moved close to the Sergeant and spoke in a whisper. “Your brother Peter has told you about the alien invasion and fights with the freedom fighters in your homeland Yanov. You have known for quite some time about this and have waited for the right opportunity to desert the Emperor’s army. You have a spy in your midst and he will pass information back to the minion forces if allowed to continue with you.” Yanov could barely hear the little general yet in his mind he could hear her loud and clear. The mention of his brother Peter gave him all the confirmation he needed to know this little girl was special and truthful. He knew who the traitor was or the spy as the general had called him. All his suspicions came to rest. He looked into the General’s eyes and turned around once again. As he looked into the Captain’s eyes of the Patriot, he got a signal and bent down to pick up his pistol. All of his men watched and Private Grinchman scramble to get his weapon. Yanov stepped over to him quickly and landed a fist full of pistol to the man’s face. Grinchman fell backward and landed on his backside.

Jorge had been told by telepathy what was coming and waited. He knew there was something odd about the private but had wanted the sergeant to act first. As it unfolded, he did not wait any longer. The other men did not make any moves to pick up their weapons and watched the whole thing happen. Grinchman hit the ground and rolled to get up. As he spun over to his knees and stood up, he brought a knife out and leaped for the Sergeant. The crack of a pistol dropped the private to the ground again only this time he did not get back up so quick. He lay looking up at the night sky as his life slowly drained away. Sergeant Asomof stood over him and said “well Captain it looks as if your time has come to an end of spying for the Emperor. It is sad that you chose to continue your service to an alien being instead of humanity. We will place your body on the Avenue so it will look like you died in service. That is all we will do.” Captain Grinchman took his last look at the corporeal existence with grimace on his face. The soldiers reluctantly carried his body up to the Avenue and halfway out before dropping it on the road. They had brought his weapons and stuck them close to his body. It was early morning before a Humvee scout almost ran over the body. It would be days before a superior found out his spy was dead.

“Where are your parent’s children?” The little boy moved in front of his sister and looked at Justin with rage in his eyes. Justin could relate to the boy because he had experienced similar moments in his own life. This little boy was being very brave to protect his sister from what he though would be more pain from a soldier. The boy looked up at Justin and merely stated “you killed them.” Justin felt the instant pain of being accused and at the same time of being in the little boy’s shoes. “No, boy I did not kill your parents. I am not a soldier of the Emperor. I take it you live in this big house?” The little girl looked up with tears running from her eyes and said “where is Josie, have you killed her too?” Justin was lost at that question and asked “who is Josie?” The little girl stood up quickly and said “our dog, what have you done to her?” Justin let out a sigh and said “your dog is alive and down stairs, one of my soldiers is taking care of her, would you both like to come down and help?” The little girl began to move toward the double doors which made the boy slowly move in that direction also. Justin could see the boy was not decided yet so turned and walked toward the doors. “Come boy, I think we can round up some food down there and you both look hungry.”

Jorge went with the 4 soldiers as they carried the body of the spy up onto the Avenue. They found a darkened area before venturing out and hurried. They knew when the patrols drove through although since the shelling had begun the patrols were fewer and far between these days. When they got back to where their weapons were they saw the little girl General talking with another soldier and she was a woman. It was ironic that the Emperor Army was very selective in placing women into platoons or even squads and those usually did not last very long before leaving. Here was a woman and she was a Sergeant and then there was the little girl who was a high ranking General. The Patriot Army was becoming more alluring by the minute. The Sergeant and the little General waited for them to approach and asked if everything proceeded okay. Yanov said yes and added a Sir to the General. The little General told the party to pick up their weapons. “You men are going to need these where we are going.” Yanov was the first to ask “and where might that be General?” Alice waited a moment while the 4 men picked up their weapons. “First thing, do you men pledge your lives to the patriot army and the human race?” All four of them turned to each other and spoke quietly then turned in unison and gave a pledge of yes. Alice was satisfied which gave the woman Sergeant relief and the Captain. Alice studied them for another moment and said “we are going to cross that avenue and enter into enemy territory in search of two teams that have already crossed into that territory. We must find them and stop their progress toward those inner defense walls which are now being shelled heavily.”

“Did you find some food for Josie?” Kathleen spoke without turning around. “Yes, there is a small closet close to the kitchen that is packed with dog and cat food. I haven’t seen any cats so far but this girl munched down the first bowl I gave her.” The little boy and girl were behind Justin as they came down the stairs and now rushed around him and slid on the floor to the dog. The dog stopped eating and began to lick the children as they pet it and talked to it. “Josie, what a perfectly wonderful name for this girl. I see you have found some wee ones that live here, prey tell where are their parents?” “I am not sure where they are but according to the children they have been killed by soldiers.” Kathleen looked at the children as they hugged the dog and as an empath could feel their pain immensely. She focused on the boy who appeared to be the oldest and asked his name. The boy hesitated for a moment but seemed to sense the sincerity from Kathleen. “I am Terrance and my sister’s name is Lori. Why did the soldiers kill our parents?” “Did you see the soldiers kill your parents?” “No, father hid us behind his special wall in the attic and we did hear the soldiers come into the attic but they left and then Lori and I went out to the balcony and saw the soldiers take father and mother to the barn. We heard the gun shots and then watched the soldiers come out and walk away. We were afraid to go down stairs so we stayed up here until you two came. We thought you were part of those others so we stayed up here until the tall soldier found us.” Justin listened and motioned to Kathleen to stay with the children as he went to check the barn.

The barn was dark as Justin walked into the open doors. He pulled out his torch and flashed it around. He jerked around as Sergeant Twomaly spoke up. Justin asked if the others were close. “Yes, General we made a sweep a half mile out and did not find any un-friendlies. Me and Corporal Cooper came in here and found something gruesome in the tack room. Justin had a feeling of what his men had found and followed the Sergeant to a tack room. Corporal Cooper was standing just outside the entrance and said he had searched the rest of the barn and it seemed to be empty. Justin stepped inside the tack room and smelled the death immediately. Both parents of the children were lying on the floor in pools of blood. They had been executed with bullets to the back of their heads. Justin understood the evil of the Emperor and his minions yet this brought it all home. He was wondering why these two people had been killed. The low lighting that the Sergeant had switched on showed that the tack room had been ransacked. Yet another mystery. Justin thought. “Did you men find any more ransacking anywhere in this barn?” “No Sir, we can search around some more if you are getting an idea about something. You think maybe these people were hiding something or knew something of importance to whoever did this?” “I will have to talk with the children we found in the house. You gather the others and set up a perimeter around the house. I don’t like it but it looks as if the inner defense walls are being shelled and fairly hard at this time. We may not be able to go to the palace now but something is fishy here and I want to know what and why these people were assassinated.”

Re: Story of fiction and fantasy and science fiction

Justin walked into the house and heard some laughter. Apparently, Kathleen had given the children something to laugh about. He did not want to give them the bad news about their parents but Terrance knew that soldiers had killed them. He moved to the room where he had left them and they were gone. He heard them in another room and followed the sounds until he found them in a big study. As he entered that room, he immediately noticed the ransacking. Someone was looking for something in this particular room as well as the tack room in the barn. Kathleen and the Children were sitting on the floor with Josie and he noticed a big mama cat with three kittens scrambling around Josie. This was the reason for the laughter. Josie was taking the brunt of the kittens and not moving at the moment. Kathleen looked up as Justin entered the room and knew what he had just experienced. She could read others thoughts but had never let that out. Her mother and father knew and taught her to keep it a secret. Justin looked at her and his eyes would have told her even if she could not read his thoughts. She turned and told the Children that the General was back and they needed to talk. Terrance looked at the General and said “you found father and mother.” It was not a question but a flat-out statement. “Yes Terrance, I found your parents and it looks like you were right about soldiers killing them. I have some questions for you if you are willing to answer them?”

Edina had taken the point with Yanov after they had crossed the Avenue and entered the open subdivision of the upper class. Alice had disappeared and was flying overhead and out front to check for un-friendlies. Jorge had told the men to spread out and apart in two-man teams and they began to move toward the North. They could hear the shelling to the northwest and knew the inner walls were being shelled. “How is it you came to be in the Emperor’s army from your mother country?” “I was given no choice in the matter. Me and my older brother were drafted into the Emperor’s army of Russia and when the American Emperor asked for some replacements for his army after the China fiasco, I was transferred here along with two battalions of soldiers. My older brother deserted the Russian Emperor’s army to fight with the freedom army and began to get word to me about strange occurrences with officers in the emperor’s army. He wrote about alien beings taking over the people. I did not believe it at first but then began to see for myself, the officers of this American Emperor, acting strange and then actually seeing the aliens that inhabited the men.’ The one I shot earlier was such a being as well as the other two that mysteriously disappeared.” Edina knew how the first two disappeared but she was not going to say anything yet. She figured General Green would let them know soon enough. “Yes, Captain Tyler and I watched what happened prior to you and your men coming across the avenue.” She was going to say something about the two different aliens when Alice appeared in front of them and told them that there was a small squad of enemy soldiers just ahead of them and they seemed to be coming this way. Edina and Yanov split up and found hiding places while Alice flew toward the other team members to warn them.

The children moved to the rather large table that sat in the middle of the study. The book shelves that lined one entire wall had been stripped of the books which lay over the floor. Some furniture had been overturned and there was a mess of papers scattered on the floor also. The desks had the drawers open and the contents thrown around. It looked like someone had tried to rip the book shelves from the wall without success. Kathleen moved to the big table with the children and sat close to them. Justin was looking at the books that had been scattered around and noticed they were more or less engineering type of books. There were a mixture of pure math and physic types. He had a theory and looked at Terrance. “Terrance, can you tell me what your father did for a living?” Terrance looked at his sister and then at Kathleen. Kathleen already knew that Johnathan Terrance Claymore was an Engineer of the highest degree so she shook her head for Terrance to answer the General. Terrance looked at Justin and said “my father was an engineer, he and two other engineers, Architects designed the defense walls that surround the Emperor’s palace. He designed some secret doorways through those walls and did not tell the emperor. The contractor that built them was murdered not long after they were built because he would not tell where those secret doorways were located or how they were designed either. Father had told us and said he could be killed for doing what he did. He told us and mother how to hide if anyone ever came here from the army. Father did write a log book and built a few models of those walls. I don’t think those military assassins could find that log book or fathers notes on the walls and they did not find his secret inner study where he built those models either.”

Lieutenant Thomas Grunge/Gyyyumphh-Iches was not happy at the moment. He had led this squad of lower life forms to the place of residence of the top engineer of the defense walls to get the locations of the secret doors through the walls. It was discovered from one of the engineers, a human named Monty Landers, that helped design the structures that Johnathan Claymore had secretly created the doors without the other two engineers and was in close contact with one of the contractors to make the doors without the knowledge of the main force of workers. The contractor was found dead and it seemed that anyone involved except the one loyal worker that told about the secret doors and plans, although he did not know where they were located or how they were built, were all missing. He had hand picked the squad which included another of his species after the Xzanturs had been eliminated and the cell had taken over the brain of the human. The humans that consisted of the squad were loyal to the Emperor and did not know about the takeover of him or others of this army. After they had ransacked the big house and could not find the secret plans, they had taken the engineer and his mate to a barn on the property and ransacked the most logical places where this human might have hidden the plans. They found nothing and assassinated the two humans. As they got further away from the place, Gyyyumphh-Iches began to think that he should have abandon this military body and entered the engineer where he could then know the secrets of the human. He knew the one supreme would not tolerate this most short sited mistake and was preparing to be eliminated himself. It was too late now so he was leading the squad back to the southern defense line where he would return to the mother ship to be assimilated back into the main collective mind.

He was shaken from the human’s pineal gland when its body fell forward to land face first on a sharp object. Whatever it was penetrated into the brain and he quickly found his way to the opening on the side of the head. He would abandon this human body and make his way to the closest human to this one. As he hit the night air, he could not sense another human male body close. The other cell member was blank to his communication. He became desperate to find another safe container and slipped out onto the ground. He could not see but felt the gigantic object crush him. The conscious part of his existence ceased to be. Edina lifted her boot and scraped it on a wooden beam that had fallen from a porch or something on the building she had found a hiding place close to. She did not want any part of the worm on her clothing. Alice had taken care of the other worm as it abandoned the other human. The team had quickly and quietly dispatched the squad of Emperor minions as they walked into the trap the team had set up thanks to General Green’s warning. Jorge found some evidence of where this squad had been very recently and figured that would be their next place to go to look for the General. He wasn’t sure how far to the north it was but it did give him a good sense of direction and identification of a rather large house and a barn. The team drug the dead minions into the brush and began to follow the track of this squad back toward the north. The booming in the north and west had ceased for the moment. This gave them some hope that they could find General Walker and both teams before they walked into a barrage of death.

“Do you know where that secret inner study is located, Terrance?” “Yes, I do and father showed me how to operate the opening so I could get in if it was needed.” “Will you show us now and take us there?” Terrance stood up from the table and walked to a big wall that had pictures of landscapes on it. The wall was on the opposite side of the room from the book shelves. Lori stood up and hurried to her brother. Terrance stood in front of a picture of the Statue of Liberty and reached up to place his hand on the torch. He could not quite reach so moved a small bench seat over and crawled up on it. Placing his hand on the torch he twisted and pushed. The torch pushed inward and a portion of the wall slid sideways just enough to allow a person to get through. Justin was amazed to see the whole thing. The wall had no seams to give indication there was a door in it. The lock mechanism would have never given any clue it could be used as it plainly looked like the painting. Terrance jumped off the bench and moved to the opening. “This will take us to the secret study.” Kathleen spoke to Lori and asked her to stay with her and the animals while her brother and the General went to look in the secret room. She could feel the fear and loss in the little girl and wanted to comfort her. Lori made some hesitant steps toward her brother and Terrance said “you can stay out here with the soldier Lori; we will be back. I am going to close the wall from the other side for now so if some bad people come you take the soldier to our hiding place and wait.” Lori shook her head and walked back to the table and sat close to Kathleen.

There was a sense of urgency or something in Jorge’s mind and heart. Something was pulling him along on this path backward that the minions had come from. It was as if he could see their footprints and knew the path clearly. He led the four men and Sergeant Edina relentlessly forward toward the north. Alice had resumed her invisible flight overhead and out front and she could feel a need emanating from the Captain. This area was a very sparce, open neighborhood. The lots were big and all of them seemed to have huge houses and barns and some had bigger detached garages. Alice did not sense any human life forms but she could sense the animal life as they seemed to hurry across the open lawns and small fields. Jorge seemed to speed up the further north they moved when he finally came to a stop at a fence line and pulled his infra-red binoculars out. He scoped the big barn and the big mansion beyond. He did not see any movement but knew there were people in cover around this particular cluster of buildings. He spoke to Edina quietly and told her he was going to try his short-wave com. She wasn’t to sure about that yet wondered what JT was up to. “Spread the men out and take the best cover you can, I am not sure but this is either a trap or our teams are here.”

Everyone had found good cover and Jorge used the special call sign. “QB3, KEW873, this is CUE459, spitfire 7.” Jorge had whispered this into his radio attached to his shoulder and waited. His radio made a small click and he heard “QC4, KEW914, this is CUE549, mustang 8, is that you JT?” “Affirmative, I have a small team with me and someone else with urgent information. Can we approach safely?” “Affirmative, we are spread out around this big house. Come up the driveway.” JT walked along the fence line and gathered his team as he walked toward a roadway. They all quietly moved together except for Alice who had flown over to the barn and waited. She knew all the team members of Justin Walker but no one could afford to be relaxed in this strange time and land. The Driveway was long and had trees lining both sides. The driveway was dark and the team had to walk slowly as they made their way toward the house. This piece of property seemed to be quite large and they could see fields on both sides of the drive. “Sergeant Walker, you and I shall introduce these men to our teams. This may be a bit dicey at first because of the uniforms these men are still wearing. You men just listen at first and know that some of the teams are fairly touchy about the Emperor’s soldiers. We will do our best to let them know that you all have come over to the patriot’s side.”

Terrance waited for Justin to get inside the very narrow hall before he turned a handle on the wall and the opening closed. Low level lights came on and Justin could see that the narrow hall appeared to end about 10 feet from the entrance. Terrance walked to the end and said “watch you step here this stairway is very narrow like the hallway and goes down almost two floors. Justin had to duck slightly but understood. The stairway did seem to go down about two floors before they came to a solid rock wall. Terrance placed his hand on the surface and pushed. A portion of the wall pressed in and the rock wall swung into a big room. Lights came on immediately and Justin stepped in behind the boy. The room was big, Justin thought it might be bigger than the study above. Two of the walls were solid rock which gave Justin the impression that this area was below the basement of the house above. “Did your father build this room after the house above was built or did, he plan it and build it while the house was being built?” Terrance moved to one of the walls away from the rock walls and operated a handle that was part of a small table. Justin heard the sound of something scraping over pavement and half the wall opened with a sliding panel. The tunnel was wide and high enough to accommodate a big excavator he surmised. “This leads to the barn where there is an elevator that is hid toward the back. Father built this after the house was built and the contractor and his crew left the country shortly after finishing it according to father.” Justin asked the boy to close the wall, he did not want the children to see their dead parents. He made a memo to himself to get his team to bury the bodies. Terrance was close if not over 10 years and Lori was close to 6 or 7 at his best guess. He moved into the room and on a big table in the center was a replica of the defense walls built around the Palace. The model of the palace in the center was a perfect replica and he wondered if Terrance’s father had anything to do with its construction.

Kathleen asked Lori if she was hungry, she suspected the children had not eaten anything for quite some time, sort of like the dog and the cats. Lori looked at her with tears in her eyes and said “it has been two days since we had anything and since we saw mother and father. I know they are dead now, Terrance told me when we were hiding upstairs that the soldiers killed them. You should know that my full name is Lorelei Claymore.” “Well then Lorelei, that is a pretty name and I know someone that knew someone with the same name once.” Lorelei looked at her and said “your last name is Anderson is it not?” Kathleen was surprised by that statement and asked “how do you know that?” “I saw it in your mind, Mamma told me not to let other people know that I could read their minds but you are the only one left now that will know.” Kathleen knew about the people that could read minds and even talk telepathically; in fact, these people could do many things that seemed like magic. She herself had some gifts from her childhood that included some telepathy and some ability to levitate. “Can you move objects by thinking about it?” Lorelei stood up and floated upward about 10 feet then lowered herself. “You mean like that?” “That is very impressive Lorelei.” Kathleen and Lorelei both turned and saw the little girl floating in the air. “General Green, what are you doing here and how did you find us?”

Alice had breathed a sigh of relief when they came across the teams at this mansion. She was glad the teams had not gone any further. The shelling of the 2nd wall and some light shelling of the inner wall had begun some 12 hours prior and she was very concerned that Justin and his two teams would get caught trying to get inside that second wall system or getting caught between the walls as they were being shelled. She waited above the barn as Captain Tyler and Sergeant Walker met the teams and introduced the new recruits. She flew into the house and entered the room where Sergeant Anderson and a little girl about the same age as she was, raised herself into the air and floated back to the floor. “I am here to tell General Walker to halt the mission you are on. To tell him that the inner walls are being shelled and the teams would be walking into a very devastating danger. We had to shell those inner walls as a distraction for the teams that are already inside the Palace so time ran out for you to do the same thing. Can you tell me where General Walker is now? As for finding you, that is quite fortunate and we will talk of that later.”

Lori/Lorelei could hear Alice speak in the mind and moved to the wall where the General and her brother had entered the long hallway to the big study that was in a second basement below the house. “The General and Terrance went to the secret study below the house. The entrance is on the other side of this wall.” Alice looked at Kathleen and moved to the wall where Lorelei was standing. She began to stick her hand through the wall and found the empty space beyond. She then stuck her head through the wall and saw the low lighted hallway. She spoke in the mind to Lorelei and told her to stay with Sergeant Anderson and teach her how to speak in the mind. She is open and has gifts that need to be released in her mind. I will return after talking with General Walker. Alice walked through the wall and disappeared.

Justin studied the walls and noticed an area that was a weak link on the second wall out. The trouble with it was the location. The wall was missing a small area just east of the I-25 and it would take a complete backtrack or a much longer way around to reach. He knew that time had run out for the teams inside the palace by now and he began to plot a way to create as much distraction and dismantling of the Emperor’s army from this vantage point. He also knew that the walls were being shelled now and it would be an opportunity to do just that with his two commando teams inside the outer most defense line. He began to study the areas where he could get close in and cause the most devastation to the minions as possible. While he was studying, he asked Terrance a question. “Terrance, do you know if your father had anything to do with the construction of the Palace building?” Terrance had been looking at some pictures of his father and mother with him when he was just a few years old. It seemed like an eternity ago now. When the General asked the question, his memory was jostled. He remembered his father telling him, when he was old enough to comprehend, about the construction of the Emperor’s Palace. It was not that long ago and in fact, the palace had been built just a little more than 5 years before he was born. His father had brought him down to this secret room and showed him the vault where he kept the plans of the palace. Father had told him that all the other copies of the plans had been destroyed by the Emperor himself and Father had told the Emperor that he did not have any copies or even the original, which he lied to the emperor about. The Emperor had sent his secret agents around to investigate but had finally given up and told the Emperor that his father was telling the truth and clean.

“Yes General, my father was the chief architect and engineer for that building and he did suffer a major search and loss of certain status from the emperor after the building was complete. Father told me that it was a miracle that the emperor did not have him eliminated at that time. I guess it was time just recently for that task to be accomplished. Father kept the original plans and had them locked away in this secret room behind another secret wall. Justin was thinking there were walls in the way of almost everything these days and these aliens that invaded were quite expert in hiding behind walls. “Can you show me how to access the secret place where the plans are located?” Terrance looked at him with a smile and walked to a pool table that stood off to one side of the room. The balls were in the rack and Terrance asked him if he knew how to play pool. Justin was confused for a moment and remembered playing this game when he was about the same age as Terrance. “Yes, I played this game when I was about your age. My father had one of these in his study also so me and my brother would play when our father allowed. Do you want to play this game right now?” “Yes General, you asked me if I could show you how to access the secret vault. This is the key for the door in the wall.”

The pool table was a full-size table with open pockets. There was a rack holding 7 pool sticks. Terrance picked a stick from the rack and looked down the length before moving to the table. Justin smiled and picked his stick. Each stick had a different weight so he picked a heavier one. Terrance had walked to the racked end of the table and shuffled the balls and removed the rack. The white cue ball was against the side rail so Terrance nudged it toward the far end and Justin reached out and stopped the ball. “Does it make a difference who breaks?” Terrance smiled and said “No it doesn’t however, there is a certain sequence of balls into certain pockets so the game could continue until father or I actually shoot those balls in a sequential play into the right pockets. What do you think of the key father created?” “Definitely a key that no one would ever guess or figure out, I am sure. Why didn’t your father know that the Emperor would sooner or later come for him?” “Oh, he knew that and was devising a plan. It was a surprise to he and mother when the soldiers and one of father’s closest friends showed up to torture him to give the information to the Emperor.” Justin placed the cue ball to the right side of the center and hit it very lightly so that it rolled slowly into the yellow 1 ball and knocked the rack into a slightly looser pile than the original rack. The cue ball had stopped close to the 1 ball and gave no shot for Terrance other than to break the pile more open. Terrance smiled and retrieved a bridge stick. “It would appear General that you have played this game later than your childhood. So, Father and mother had only enough time to get Lori and I upstairs and into our favorite hiding place and do their best to provide a deflection away from us. Those soldiers did come up to the attic area but could not find us.”

Terrance placed the bridge close to the cue ball and held up his stick as high as he could get it. Justin was quite interested and was becoming more impressed with this young 10-year-old boy. Terrance had stopped talking and concentrated on his action. He poked the bottom of the cue ball and it popped up over the top of the balls and landed on the open table in a spin of some sort as it rolled sideways and hit the rail. Justin watched the cue ball almost roll straight back and clip the 1 ball which was free from the rack. The 1 ball spun toward the side rail and bounced off in an odd angle that sent it behind the rack of balls and into the corner pocket across the table. Justin heard a slight click as the ball dropped into the pocket. He didn’t think anything about it other than the 1 ball making the sound as it hit the bottom of the pocket. Meanwhile the cue ball had spun itself into the rack and knocked the balls open. Justin watched the entire shot with amazement and took a second look at the boy. He waited for Terrance to move to his next shot. Miraculously, the cue ball had stopped in line with the 2 ball which gave Terrance a direct shot to the far end of the table in an opposite corner pocket from where he had dropped the 1 ball. “So, after those soldiers left the attic, Lori and I came out and moved to the access. We could hear Mr. Landers raising his voice to father and mother downstairs. He was trying to coheres them into giving him the only remaining plans for the Palace, funny that they did not care about the walls, by telling them that they had Lori and I and would kill us if father did not give those plans up.”

Terrance used the bridge again and shot the 2 ball into the far cross corner. The cue ball did a spin and rolled to a stop next to the 3 ball. Justin had to smile because there was not a good shot for that ball. He did not know where Terrance was going to shoot it but guessed that it would have to go into a certain pocket. The three ball was almost resting against the rail on the same side that the 1 ball had been dropped into the corner pocket. The cue ball was a fingers width from the ball toward the center of the table. Justin could see no shot at the ball but there were other solid balls that could be shot easy enough. However, Terrance stood at the far side of the table and placed the bridge once again, close to the cue ball. Justin wasn’t sure what the boy was up to but given his performance so far, anything could happen. Terrance picked up a chalk on the edge of the table and began to chalk his stick as he continued to speak. “Father and mother both did not buy the lies and coercion that Mr. Landers spoke and Father asked why he was doing this. Landers must have had one of those soldiers do something to father because we heard father give out a sound of pain and heard a crash of some furniture. We listened to those people torture our parents for a while then they left the house.”

The tick on the cue ball was a high left sided English and went to the side of the three ball. Justin watched as the red ball spun into the rail and bounce across the table to land in the corner pocket. He heard that click again and by now knew that the keys were being turned. The cue ball bounced off the rail also and shot across the table to hit the far side rail and roll to a stop so that the four ball was almost in line with a shot at the far corner across from where the 2 ball had been sunk. Terrance took the shot and left the cue ball sitting close to the 10,12 and 13 balls that had gathered on the left side of the table. Justin was amazed at this boy and his expertise at shooting pool. So far, he had heard two clicks and that was when the one ball and the three ball were sunk. He was not sure how the keys were played but for the boy to leave the cue ball close to his stripe balls did not seem fitting. He figured he could at least drop the 12 ball in the side pocket and set himself up for the 13 which would in turn give him a set up to put the ten ball in one of far corner pockets. He had not played this game for a couple of years now and was a bit rusty. He took the shot and the 12-ball slid into the side pocket while the cue ball rolled up and hit the end rail. Bouncing back, it rolled slowly to the center of the table and left him a slice shot at the 13 into the same side pocket the 12 rolled into. The cue ball spun into the side rail and spun out to a slow stop with the 10-ball sitting close to the rail down table toward the corner pocket. Justin looked at the 14-ball sitting on the end rail close to the center of the table. He figured he could let the cue ball roll with the 10 and hopefully stop where he could hit the 14 and knock it into the corner pocket. His shot at the 10 did cause the 10 to roll down into the corner but the cue stopped where it hit the 10 which gave him a very hard shot at the 14. He would have to bank the 14 now or try and shoot the 15 or 9 ball, both of which were behind other balls at this point. “So how did your father get the minions to leave the house?”

The Cue ball glanced off the left side of the 14 ball and it spun the short distance into the rail and rolled toward the far end pocket that Terrance had dropped the 1 ball into. Terrance watched the cue ball bounce back toward the left side and roll into the side rail. It bounced off that rail and shot toward the upper end as the 14-ball rolled into the corner pocket. On its way to the far end the cue ball knocked the 5 ball into the side rail on the left side of the table. The Cue ball bounced off the end rail and rolled to a stop with a bank shot at the 9 ball that sat close to the left side rail. “Very nice shot General. You remind me of father and his shots. Lori and I heard those soldiers knock father and mother both around a little longer until mother spoke out with pain and said something about the tack room in the barn.” “So that is when you and Lori moved to the out-side balcony?” “Yes sir, Lori wanted to call out to them but I quickly told her to be quiet. I knew the soldiers and Mr. Landers were going to kill them. Father and mother would never give us up and Father would never tell them where this room and the secret vault with those plans was either. He was planning to give the plans to the patriot army but Mr. Landers and those soldiers showed up to soon.”

Justin chalked his stick and bent over to take the shot at the 9-ball. “I suppose those plans show all the secret tunnels and hallways that lead to the Emperor’s office and his private quarters?” Justin took the shot and the 9-ball came off the side rail and rolled toward the side pocket on the opposite side. Justin knew the ball was not going to drop as soon as he hit the cue ball. He hit the ball so it would roll off the rail almost straight back and stop so he could have a good shot at the 15. He wanted to see what Terrance would do if he missed the shot so the cue stopped at the center of the table and in line with the 5-ball directly against the rail. The 6 ball was at the far end of the table behind the 8 ball with the 7 hanging close to the side rail at the corner pocket. Terrance had a crooked little smile on face as he picked up the chalk. “Yes General, that is why the emperor sent those murderers to torture and kill my parents. I just can’t figure out why he waited so long.” “I think I might know why. The Emperor along with the puny dictators of other countries around the world were inhabited by an insidious alien race that arrived here from a very distant system that they destroyed a few hundred years ago. We have been fighting them more than the human minions and dictators. We would have taken back this country by now if not for those aliens, there are two different species of them by the way.” Terrance stared at him with a questioning look for a minute before studying his next shot. “So how are you dealing with this invasion, and are these aliens more advanced than the human race?”

Justin waited for Terrance to take his shot before answering. Terrance shot the 4 ball into the far corner pocket that he had purposely missed and left the cue ball almost exactly where Justin had left it. “Both species are able to assimilate or inhabit other living beings. They are symbiotic parasites for lack of better explanation. We did not discover their invasion until they had been here for quite some time and managed to inhabit most of the leaders of this world and had already began inhabiting the high brass of the military factions of the dictators, the most intelligent of the species are the weakest. We have discovered just recently that the worms, that is what we call them, have started to eliminate the fish aliens in order to inhabit the human race directly. It seems that these two species are now having their own internal war while they are conducting a war against the human race.” Terrance hit the five ball hard and fast and Justin watched the ball scoot across the table and bank off the side rail. It rolled across the table again and hit the side rail it was originally on. Justin watched in amazement once again as the ball shot straight across the table and dropped into the side pocket. He heard the click once again. The cue ball hit the end rail and shot down table to hit the 6 ball and knock it into the other end rail and roll toward the other side pocket. The cue ball stopped where the 6 ball had been sitting. Justin could see that Terrance would have to slice the 6 ball into the far side pocket if that was his target. Either way, into the side or the far corner the shot would have to be sliced.

“How old are you boy, if you don’t mind me asking?” Terrance pulled out a chronometer from his pants pocket and flipped it open. He studied it for a second before replacing it. As he placed his cue stick on the cue ball he said “I will be 10 in May of this year General.” Justin had figured close to Terrance’s age and his sister looked to be around 7. Terrance took his next shot and Justin watched as the cue ball ticked the side of the 6 and rolled at a slight angle to the far end rail. The 6-ball scooted across the table into the side pocket opposite of where the 5 ball had dropped. The cue ball bounced off the rail and rolled back down table to stop so that the 7 ball was in line to shot into the corner pocket on the same side as the where the 5 ball had dropped into the side pocket. Terrance did a quick shot and stopped the cue ball dead as the 7-ball rolled into the corner pocket. The click sounded once more and this time Justin could hear a latch sound. He turned around to see if he could perchance see an open door but the walls remained solid. The eight ball was sitting on the opposite corner and Terrance quickly called out the placement of that particular ball. The shot was quick and the black ball disappeared into the pocket. This time a portion of the wall to the right side of the table slid open. Terrance replaced his stick in the rack and walked to the opening. “The plans are in here General, and the little girl that has been watching us for the past 30 minutes can come and look at them also.”

Re: Story of fiction and fantasy and science fiction

Post by LostNFound »

Alice was surprised. There was seldom anything that surprised her these days but this young boy just gave her hope again. She had entered the secret study, as the boy had said, around 30 minutes earlier and stayed invisible while the General and the boy played a game of pool. She was quite interested in watching the game and the two that were playing it. She might have guessed that this child would be able to use his mind in more ways than average by knowing that his sister was quite open to doing the same. She wondered about the parents but that would be something for the future. She became visible and walked across the room. Justin had turned around when Terrance mentioned a little girl and saw her become visible. “General Green, what brings you into enemy territory, I thought you were already in the palace?” “Yes Justin, I was in the Palace with the two teams and helped them to get in by a secret passageway/stair from the garages below. The Palace is infested with the fish and worm aliens. We could not get any further than the main floor and the teams are hiding there waiting for the right moment to get up to the 5th and 6th floor to take out the emperor. I left to get the patriots to shell those inner walls for a major distraction and that is why I have come to find you. I did not want you and the teams to walk into that shelling.” Terrance had noticed the General’s uniform on the young girl and thought that he could be an officer in the patriot army because he knew some real secret information about the emperor’s movements and plans. Alice looked directly at him and said “Yes Terrance you could be a great help now for the patriots.”

“You are saying that you have two teams inside the Palace, I have unlocked the secret vault where father kept the plans for the Palace and there are many secret passageways and back stairs. You are going to take these plans to those patriots inside, are you not?” “Yes Terrance, I am going to do that, those people need to get past the aliens on the 1st floor and the other floors as well. The Emperor is only a human in outer shell now. The worms have been exterminating their hosts that brought them here, from their now destroyed system, and are taking over the human race as their new hosts.” Terrance walked into the vault and asked the General to help him. Justin walked in and was surprise that the vault was a room about 10 by 10 feet square. On one wall sat a table and it had a 48” by 48” book sitting on top. Terrance walked to the table and asked Justin to help him carry the book out of the vault. The boy and the man carried the big book out of the vault and sat it on a big table that was off to the side of the pool table. Justin had noticed the buckle to a strap that held the book together. He started to unbuckle the strap when Terrance grabbed his hand. “You do want to keep your hand and possibly your eyesight, as well as observe this book?” Justin backed up and gave Terrance room. Alice had an amusing moment and waited for Terrance to disable whatever would cause a bad moment to Justin and anyone that might be close enough to be affected.

Terrance touched the S in the word HISTORY on the cover. A panel opened just below the word and Terrance pushed a small button. Justin heard a click and then Terrance said “you can now unbuckle the strap. Justin had to smile and said “are there any more booby traps?” “No General, that was the last one and if someone got through all the others, this one would have taken them out and destroyed the plans.” Justin unbuckled the straps and opened the book. He studied the first few pages and knew these were specifications and other notes. He turned the pages through structural and Mechanical, plumbing and Electrical with more notes and specifications until he reached the actual floor plans. He knew something about building plans due to being an Architect for a short time in his younger years. He noticed that there were parts of the plans missing. He turned the pages through the floors and they all seemed to be missing areas on the plans. It was fairly blatant to see as the areas were big blank spots. He turned to Terrance and asked “does your father have another set of the floor plans? There seems to be areas that may have been erased on this set.” “No General, this is the only set left of the entire building as it was built originally. Any changes that may have been made after the original construction would have been done without my father.” “These blank areas, are they where the secret tunnels, stairways, passageways and other rooms and such were created and most likely built?” “Yes, General they are all of those areas.” “So, your father erased them so no one would know what he created by order of the Emperor?” “No, Father erased them because he knew the Emperor would come for them and he did not want the Emperor or any minion of his to have them whole. He entrusted another to know all those diagrams and secrets.” “That would have been your mother then?” “No, that is why father and mother distracted those soldiers and Mr. Landers away from the main house.”

Alice knew that Terrance and Lori both had extra capabilities or the use of more brain power. She had witnessed that with Lori right away. She did not know how much or how many doors had been opened in Terrance as of yet but she was sure he could read minds. Yes, dear Alice, I can read other peoples minds and I can do many other things with the gifts I was given when I returned to this time place in the corporeal body you see. “It is me and Lori that carry those secrets General. Father and Mother both knew at our birth that we have gifts and they kept our secrets from the Emperor and his loyal servants such as Mr. Landers. Lori and I never used our gifts outside the family. So, father erased all the secrets of the palace and I and Lorelei have them in our memories.” He turned to Alice and smiled. “My dear Bethany, you remember the war we were in and how I was shot first? I do not know when you were taken but here you are and you are a child yet or a little younger than me and that is the way it has always been for both of us.”

Another door was unlocked in Alice’s mind and she saw Evan standing in front of her. Evan and her had been married in that lifetime and had to fight in the war that came to their doorstep. She had watched as Evan was shot by the force of soldiers that invaded their farm. She had managed to escape through the secret tunnel they had built when the war had first started a few years prior. She left the country and lived in a foreign land until her time ran out. She never remarried and pined for Evan until she left her corporeal body. She moved to Terrance and put her arms around him. My memory has been locked up for a very long time Evan. I have been through other life times and never had a door unlocked for you. The Divine Creator brought me here to be reunited with you. Yes Beth, I have been on other worlds to help bring about freedom to all of the Divine Creators beings. This body is the first time back here from that time of our soul connection. I knew you would come along sooner or later, so I have been biding my time. Lorelei is in the same way as you and I have been. She is looking for her soul connection and this is a second time for her here. She had to leave before her husband of that other time. Justin watched as General Alice Green moved to the boy called Terrance and wrapped her arms around him. There had been a mind communication between these two and he knew it. He had waited patiently while the two discussed whatever it was in their minds and studied the plans. Finally, he asked, so, if you and your sister have these missing parts, may I ask where you are hiding them?”

Terrance/Evan smiled at Alice/Bethany and turned to the General. “Yes, General you may ask. My sister and I have all the missing parts memorized and where they are located by sight in the Palace.” “This means that we will have to go back to headquarters and have you both dictate that info to an Architect and then we will have to get the plans to our teams. We do not have that kind of time.” “No General you do not. Alice will have to take us to the teams and we will have to lead them through the maze to reach their target.” “I cannot let you and your sister enter into that den of monsters. General Green has many powers and can get in there but to take two other children would not be good on my part. Can you allow the General to search you mind and gather the information so she could at least lead the teams?” Terrance smiled again and disappeared. Alice stood looking at Justin with a blank face. Justin was quite surprised and looked directly at Alice. “You going to tell me that this boy has powers like yours?” Alice smiled then and said “Yes Justin, Terrance and I were married once in the past and he has all of his mind open, at least I believe so. His sister is the same way. We are the Children of Paradise as has been said somewhere. Most of the children born or being born on this planet within the last 10 years are born with their gifts available to them. Some more than others but the doors are unlocked and all we have to do is walk the hallways and enter a room to gain the ability to use the gifts. Some do not find those hallways as soon as others but for the most part we are what was called the ascended or entering the new world/dimension and we will bring others with us such as yourself. The world has been in a flux for along time and we have entered a sort of crescendo of change.” Justin could feel a static in the air as Terrance became visible, something had changed in him.

In the big study of the main house, Sergeant Kathleen Anderson was beginning to move objects with her mind. Lorelei was helping her to open some doors in her mind. “That is very good, can you feel the rush through your hands as you concentrate the power of your mind?” Kathleen could feel what appeared to be a cool breeze with a tingling affect across her hands and at the tip of her fingers. She was holding the big table in the air about 3 feet off the floor. “Yes, I remember when I was younger, I could make small things move around and my mother telling me that I mustn’t ever let anyone know I could do it.” “Yes, mother and father told Terrance and I to not let anyone know about our abilities. If the Emperor ever found out about us, he would have taken us from here for sure, or at least try.” “Alice told me to help you open more doors. She said you were already somewhat open and needed some help with opening other doors.” Kathleen started to speak about that when Captain Jorge Tyler and Sergeant Edina Walker entered the big study.

“Sergeant Anderson, where are General Walker and General Green? We need to vacate this area as quick as possible. There is a small platoon of Emperor soldiers moving this way and they have a scout vehicle with one of those 30mm chain guns. We figure they are about 20 minutes out and they seem to be headed straight for this place.” Kathleen looked at Lorelei and said “they are down in a secret study with this girl’s brother. Lori, is there anyway to alert your brother in that room?” Lori walked to a small table and opened a drawer. She picked up a writing pen or so it seemed until she pulled the pocket holder on the side and spoke at the device. “Terrance, there is a large body of Emperor minions with a vehicle headed this way and there is a Captain here telling us we need to vacate the area.” She pushed the pocket holder back and put the pen back in the drawer. One minute later the secret door opened in the wall and Terrance was the first through. General Green followed along with General Walker and Justin asked “Captain, are the men and women ready to move out?” “Yes General, we are ready to move North to that little park that was in our original op.” “Belay that Captain, Tell the teams that we are heading east and then south from here.” He turned to speak with Terrance and watched as the boy moved to a rather large picture of George Washington crossing the Ice packed Delaware river. Terrance pulled a piece of the boat outward and hit a series of buttons on a keypad. There was a slight rumble under their feet but it subsided. “General, we should leave the house immediately, it is going to catch fire quickly. The secret study has been caved in and nothing will be salvageable. Lori, we will be going with General Green shortly. I hope your team can take care of Josie General, she is trained to hunt and will make a good mascot for any team of soldiers. The cats will be fine and will be able to eat. Our horses were taken to some relatives about 2 months ago so the barn will be empty if those minions decide to burn it down. The house will burn to the ground.”

“Let’s go people, we do not want the minions knowing we are in their area.” JT swung around and called the dog who quick enough came right to him. He could feel his heart thumping as he looked at the little girl. There was something very familiar about her but now was not the time to inquire. “What about the mission General?” Justin spoke as he was moving toward the side door. General Green and the children are going to accomplish that mission now hurry.” That left a lot of questions but JT took the dog and went through the door also. Edina had looked at Kathleen and caught some of her words emanating from her mind. She understood that Lori and Terrance were like General Green and figured that the children were going to the Palace to help the two teams already inside. Edina moved toward the door as Kathleen followed. Alice had waited for Terrance to finish his sabotage of the house and Lori was right behind Kathleen. Outside the booming was louder and the sky was lit up toward the west. The two teams with the soldiers that had abandoned the Emperor Army and joined the Patriots were already moving toward the east. As they all made their way down the long drive, Alice stopped and called Lori and Terrance to her position. The soldiers did not notice as General Walker and Captain Tyler led them across the street and into another big piece of land. The Op was to escape the Minion platoon that was approaching from the South.

“Can both of you become invisible?” Lorelei looked at her brother and disappeared. Yes, we can Alice, we can do many things and still learning new things. Alice smiled and said in her mind good Lorelei, we are going to the palace to help the patriot teams that are stalled inside. You and Terrance will need to lead them through the secret maze of passageways and stairs to reach the top floors where the Emperor lives. There are many aliens in the palace and the worm species can feel us when we are within 5 feet of them. Lorelei reappeared and smiled. She had never been to the real palace but had walked through a holographic representation to visualize locations of the secret places. “Terrance/Evan, can you make things disappear or move to other places in the universe?” “Yes Beth, I have been able to do that since I was 3 years old.” “Good, will you slow the minions down somewhat while General Walker and the teams get a good distance from here?” “Yes, we can all go and do this on our way to the palace.” The three Children disappeared and left a 3-story mansion starting to be engulfed in flames.
