Madison Park Micro Housing Conditionally Approved?

Post by Naga_Fireball »

I'm not sure! You should post some of it in here in a quote, Lol..

But heres a strange thing. You told me to read.
Yesterday I failed to look at the paper stand due to extreme depression and interest in imbibement.

The front page story yesterday was Madison Park.

"Madison Park Gets OK" by Sheila Hagar
Monday Aug 1 2016

The homeless housing will need to meet multiple conditions to be built, according to a hearing examiner's ruling.

...

Long story short the city is making it more expensive with plumbing but families won't get to stay longer than two months.
Original plan was 24 month stays....

Dear friends. The UB article was neutral (so far) but our girl Sheila Hagar did let the public know a few of the names associated with efforts by godless mammonite local businesses to slow or kill the Madison Park project.

A huge shout out to Tom & Gerry Watts of Walla Walla Washington, and also to Clint Hoffman, who are pleased that their lawyer added thousands of dollars' cost to the project. You three males are officially among the Biggest Pieces of $hit in Town. Your mothers must be proud that you kept entire families in the bread line and daily queue for NON PERMANENT, EXTRA SHITTY SHELTERS.

I'm sure that the homeless appreciate how much concern shown by "business men" who point out that houses need plumbing and tents must stay erect in wind & snow, WITHOUT PLEDGING A FKING DIME TO THE POOR.

Again, Thank You So Much, Tom & Gerrald Watts and Clint Hoffman, for providing a 21st century sterling example of why Jesus Christ said its easier to get a camel in a people gate than a rich man into heaven.

I sure didn't have a shit or shower in my military tents in Kuwait and Uzbekistan....

Those three guys deserve their asses kicked by each homeless veteran in town.

Its literally like hearing "let them eat cake" all over again.

Christine, sorry for that rant, but the situation here in WW is so convoluted that it's almost funny.

The anti homeless camp says things are sufficient, but the pro-aid side thinks our city fails at providing for the actual people who need it most, people who can't always ask for what they truly need.

Only a lucky few actually enjoy living in the streets. For the rest it is just survival and companionship.

Sorry to sound so down on the wealthy.

Mondays Union Bulletin in Walla Walla has a Letter to the Editor from Chuck Hindman, of the Walla Walla Homeless Alliance.

It was wonderful but had some tragic news.

Our city is now literally breaking the law in evicting our homeless from public lots in lieu of the availability of public housing.

Mr Hindman graciously shares the story of CJ, a local homeless man whose constitutional rights were recently violated.

Please unite for these people and send us your prayers.

Hearing set Monday on appeals over homeless project
Alfred Diaz Updated 3 hrs ago (0)

Two legal battles dealing with Madison Park — the micro housing and commons building for homeless people — are to be heard in Walla Walla County Superior Court on Monday.

On Aug. 18 an appeal was filed by opponents of Madison Park, a project that includes 14 micro-housing units of about 100 square feet each, a commons building with kitchen and showers, and RV parking spots and tent camping to be constructed at 708 W. Pine St.

The appeal filed by attorney David Grossman — who represents several adjacent neighbors — is an attempt to fight a previous Aug. 1 decision by Hearing Examiner Leland Kerr, who ruled Madison Park could be build but with some restrictions.

A second appeals was filed Aug. 22 by the Northwest Justice Project, representing the Walla Walla Alliance for the Homeless, the group that wants to build Madison Park.

The Alliance is seeking to remove restrictions set by Kerr that include limits to tent structures and a four-strikes your out rule that would close Madison Park if it were to get four city code violations within a 12 month period.

Both appeals are scheduled to be heard 1:30 p.m. Monday by Superior Court Judge John Lohrmann in the county Courthouse, 315 W. Main St.

Hey Mr Grossman,
Is it fun suing the food out of people's mouths?
The roofs from over their heads, the clothes from off their backs??

For shame.

Lol.

Ok our local news now says their reported hearing date, Monday (day before yesterday ) did not happen and the tentative date is Thursday. But the judge is stuck in trial and it might not be heard then either.

Ugh.

The funny thing is, i was going to attend but flaked out at the last minute. Then they did not do it.
