Terence McKenna ~ Dreaming Awake at the End of Time

Post by Christine »

I wonder what he would be saying if he were alive today. I find so much of what he says resonating deeply. These past weeks for me have been deep in the dream, so much so that it is at times difficult to stay on the surface. And so much so that words are often stripped away down to a single sound.

Some golden thoughts are expressed in this video, the one that strikes the deepest chord in me is Beauty, the ability to perceive it and use the power of our imagination to create it... this isn't necessarily creating art in physicality it is simply the power of the dream. As we come "online" so to speak the whole shifts and at times this means an encounter with forces that resist the waking within the dream. It's been quite a ride lately and I know I am not alone but here words will of necessity fail for what is forming and reforming is not ready to be spoken.

Love with all your might my dear friends and let that love shine from inward out into the forming mists.

Here's another from the great bard, recorded in San Francisco on December 13, 1998. I know many of the videos I have/am going to upload are widely available, I hope that mine will be a little better in terms of audio/video quality, assuming the YouTube encoder treats them well. Some things may get re-uploaded later on with different parameters if they are not up to par, for now my focus is mainly to get everything up since I had to pull them from my site due to bandwidth usage. Eventually it will all be embedded in an organized fashion on http://www.nndmt.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (domain will be back up on the 19th)

"Join Terence McKenna, author, explorer and philosopher for a think along deconstruction of the deepening worldwide weirdness. With his characteristic hope and humor, McKenna examined time and its mysteries, the nature of language, the techniques of ecstasy, high technology and virtual cyberspace, the role of hallucinogenic plants in shamanism and the evolution of human cultures, and the foundations of post-modern spirituality. The lecture and discussion was didactic, syncretic, challenging, eclectic, eidetic and irreverent intellectual adventure."
The journey, the challenge is to step into the
projection room and stop being lost in the script.
