Today is Winter Solstice and I love this bittersweet day and what it means to me....
The sacred child is birthing anew.

Today I build a tiny fire
and feed it till its flames out burst
I WILL feed it all my Ire and give it's heat my very worst...

my sore heart muddles
my doubts all tied in bundles
My fear that life is war
my "what ever am I living HERE for?"

This day is short and fleet.
Colder weather yet to come and still more days to feel a saddened mourning?
But I can make my melancholy sweet!!
Knowing here is the longest night and latest morning,
I Claim this moment for my own reborning.

I WILL stand before my fire here until my face is brightly pinking
I WILL feed the flames my fuel until without the (I say it but can't mean it) winking
I WILL stay with me, even while the sun is sinking,
