The lucky machine is Sophia the Humanoid, who was designed to look like Audrey Hepburn.<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__text text  js-mediator-article\">\n<p>News of Sophia\u2019s citizenship was announced at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am very honored and proud for this unique distinction,\u201d<\/em> Sophia said in an interview with moderator Andrew Ross Sorkin. <em>\u201cThis is historical to be the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sophia was created by David Hanson for Hong Kong company Hanson Robotics.
