The idea with HUMAN was to create songs that would reflect the same emotion generated by the interviews. I wanted things to open up, to open up one\u2019s heart, to let the sadness be without any restraint.<\/p>\n HUMAN has been one of these rare moments in my life as a film composer during which I could express all these different cultures at the same time : either working on minimalist songs or meeting with these singers and musicians coming from all around the world. Which note did I first produce ? I had more like a global vision in mind, an atmosphere that would merge into the film and that would bring people together, this was my starting point. The part I created for the Mongolian sequence might be the best summary of the atmosphere I wanted the film to have.<\/p>\n Yann has given me a particular role as a film composer that is very diffrent from the one other directors usually give me. There is a strong friendship between us, an intimate relationship. He\u2019s generous. HUMAN a \u00e9t\u00e9 un des rares moments dans ma vie de compositeur de musiques de film, o\u00f9 j\u2019ai pu exprimer toutes ces cultures diff\u00e9rentes : \u00eatre aussi bien dans des musiques minimalistes que dans des rencontres avec tous ces musiciens et chanteurs venus d\u2019ailleurs. Quelle note m\u2019est venue en premier ? C\u2019\u00e9tait plus une vision globale, un univers en osmose avec le film, o\u00f9 il \u00e9tait question de partage et de rencontre, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mon point de d\u00e9part. D\u2019ailleurs, pour moi ma composition faite pour les images de la Mongolie r\u00e9sume particuli\u00e8rement l\u2019univers que j\u2019ai voulu pour ce film.<\/p>\n Avec Yann, j\u2019ai une place particuli\u00e8re en tant que compositeur, diff\u00e9rente de celle que me donnent les autres r\u00e9alisateurs. Entre lui et moi, il y a une amiti\u00e9 profonde, nos \u00e9changes sont complices. C\u2019est quelqu\u2019un de g\u00e9n\u00e9reux.
