Many people have taken to using the word with only a vague idea of what it is.

The dictionary defines it as follows:

Sovereign, from Latin supernes (heavenly), superus (higher)

A person who has supreme power or authority

What exactly does it mean to be sovereign?

As the dictionary definition suggests, a sovereign is someone who has supreme power or authority. In the context, it means that as a sovereign, you are the one with the highest authority over yourself. Nobody can rule over you because you do not allow it. Nothing stands between you and Creator/Source, no priest or other religious figure and no government. Read more or listen below.

I haven't watched the video yet, but that made me think that I'm also the highest authority over my Self. That means I am one with Source. Any separate authority (which can be useful in some cases) is an artificial overlay on top of the Source and animated by the Source. The very existence of external authorities is granted by the Source.

I think external authorities like governments will continue to operate for many years to come. And that's fine because it serves a purpose of providing an overarching structure for society. BUT, it's a temporary thing, a fad basically seen from a larger cosmic perspective. I predict that the external authorities will come to serve us the people instead of we the people being slaves to external authorities.
