Eagle hunting is held in high esteem and considered a privilege. Those who are able to do it are well respected in the community.



The Dukha believe they have a spiritual connection with all animals.



This connection allows them to feel at home in nature and maintain their culture despite the encroaching outside world.

I don't even feel I need to ask what they do with each eagle they catch.


I've not got any photographs to show, but I have made several sound recordings of the breaking of dawn in upland woodland in north east England, that I'm glad to have made.

I'm happy to share my favorite recording, so far.

It's a binaural recording, so it really spaces up well on a nice quality pair of headphones.
